UT Health Pacesetter BSN Fall 2018

Published

I haven't seen a topic for the UT Health Fall 2018 program, so here it is!

I am applying for the fall with following stats:

Prereq GPA 3.65

Science GPA 4.00

HESI (just took it last Friday):

Reading 90

Vocab 92

Grammar 84

Math 96

AP 100

I am making a career shift with a BS in Chemistry that I got from UH Downtown.

Good luck everyone!

I like the introduction idea besides just our stats. There's so much more to a human besides their college coursework!

I'm Mel,

I'm originally from Chicago but moved to TX in 2006. I've had 3 beautiful boys. My inspiration to be a nurse comes from my two month old that passed away in 2011. He was undiagnosed in utero with HLHS, which is a fatal congenital heart condition. I have a lovely four year old and a bubbly 9 month old. I live with my partner of 4 years. Him and I have no animals besides our wild children LOL. I stopped working about one year ago to focus on school. I was raised by my grandparents, so I have a love for geri! That will probably be my specialty. I love old people and cardio! I'm not a fan of peds, because I could never work on those floors and not be a crying mess. I like biochemistry and biology a LOT and eventually hope to take my nursing career to research, or possibly a CRNA.

High fives to you EmJay92! All that you have been through and you keep trucking! That is truly amazing! Eyes on the prize guys, we've got this...and if not this go around...then next!

I'm resilient. Lol! I have a question for you guys, how many times have you applied to UT Health? I've seen a lot of other people applying 2-3 times then getting in. I'm okay with that. I just need some more hope. Lmao.

This is my first time applying, but I'm okay with trying a couple more times too if I don't get in. I just hope I don't have to haha.

With his/her case it could be for the honor's program at UTH. I think they have one and it seems reasonable that they would select the best of the best if there is only a few people knowing their acceptance. Patience is key!

The honors program is actually only for current students, you can't apply until after your second semester

Oh man, then the plot thickens!

I think we should just call and ask tomorrow

This is my first time applying as well. Is UTH the only place you guys applied?

Yeah, I only applied to UTH.

This is my first time applying too and yes UTH is the only place I applied

I see. I suppose that goes to show that the HESI score could possibly be weighed more than GPA in a sense.

I guess they started a new thing - department head calls personally to notify those with perfect HESI scores about their admission acceptance.

Has anyone heard anything yet? Anybody call? I keep calling but I don't get an answer.
