UT Health Pacesetter BSN Fall 2018

Published

I haven't seen a topic for the UT Health Fall 2018 program, so here it is!

I am applying for the fall with following stats:

Prereq GPA 3.65

Science GPA 4.00

HESI (just took it last Friday):

Reading 90

Vocab 92

Grammar 84

Math 96

AP 100

I am making a career shift with a BS in Chemistry that I got from UH Downtown.

Good luck everyone!

There's no interview process

The time is killing me....I really want to know if I was accepted or not! Anyone else?

You are definitely not alone! The waiting gives me anxiety!!

Yeah the waiting sucks. I turned down an ADN program in lieu of taking my TEAS and applying for other BSN programs. I think it's silly we can have associate degrees of science and our ADN and no bachelors! Anywho, our thread seems to be a lot shorter compared to other ones. Maybe not as many people applied! I'm fully aware that's a super far stretch and everyone is just lurking, like I used to do. LOL.

It's also just so nerve wracking because we literally don't know what they look for. Yeah it says GPA and HESI, but I've just noticed so much variance. People assume because they had perfect 4.0's they got in--then get rejected. It's cruel!

I also turned down the acceptance of an ADN program just because I prefer just getting the BSN done.

That makes me feel not so naive and brash, lol. I was chastised by colleagues who said I was silly for turning down the ADN for a BSN program with an acceptance rate of like 9%. You only live once though, so I might as well try.

Yeah...impatiently waiting lol I'm just going to keep on trucking if it doesn't happen this time...but like everyone else, I hope it does. I'm sure there are more ppl than we think on here...they are probably like me who just "lurked" around forever. I'm sure the closer we get to May or when the 1st person gets accepted the comments will start rolling in!

I wanted to do the ADN program first too but then I realized it would take the same 2 years to get my BSN instead. It would take me 4 years total to get my BSN if I went the ADN route! But I might reconsider going the ADN route if I don't get in.

So are y'all from the Houston area? I live in Fort Worth, just curious to see if there's anyone that lives around here lol.

It would be super awesome to hear towards the end of April but apparently there's a firm possibility we won't know until the end of May! Like the 24th. I want to cry. Like the semester ends for me at Lone Star around May 15th-ish. I can't imagine my life where I don't know then if I got in to UT or not. Or like my worst case scenario is they tell us the first two weeks of May during finals. Oh man, that would not be fun.

There's a branch of TWU in Dallas that my friend attends and she loves it there. I am from Houston! Live in The Woodlands currently.

Oh I know right!? I wouldn't be able to study for my finals knowing I got rejected! But I think they won't tell anything until the end of May.
