Hi, anyone applying for Fall 2023?
What has been your experience so far?

when I called UTMB some lady told me that I could only transfer like 9 credits outside of the UT school system, I could have applied for UTMB as well ?
Would an 85 on the TEAS 7 been competitive?

wow, she must have misunderstood. I think she might've been talking about how many credits you can transfer from an actual nursing program, not prerequisites. I got all of mine done at a community college and had an 84 TEAS so your 85 would definitely be competitive

Well, if I don't get in this semester then I guess I can also apply to UTMB the next semester.
Hey guys, I have withdrawn my UTH application with addmisions to open the spot up for someone else that is waiting. I have chosen to go to UTMB as well. For anyone now or in the future debating the 2 schools, I'd say they are both academically amazing schools, they are similar in cost, both are a part of the University of Texas, and they have similar completion times. So what it really boils down to is your personal commute and the type of lifestyle you prefer. UT Health Cizik will allow you to go to school in the largest medical center in the world, and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city life. With so many hospitals surrounding the school, you can't help but feel inspired and excited for your future as a medical professional. UTMB has a lot of amazing history as it was founded in 1890 as the first nursing school in Texas (and west of the Mississippi). It also has the beautiful historical builiding "Old Red" which serves as a medical museum but also has places inside for students to study. It was the very first medical school builiding in the state of Texas. So if you love history you might find that inspiring, as you would become a part of such rich Texas history. UTMB is also right there on the beach if you enjoy the island vibe. You can't go wrong with either of these schools. They both have so much to offer, and if you got in to either one you should feel proud. I hope this helps someone making their decision. I can also confirm what someone else said that you do not have to get the majority (or any) of your prerequisites from a UT school in order to apply to UTMB. I also did my associates at a community college for my prerequisities. To all of you going to UTH Cizik, I wish you all the best on your path to become a nurse! The future is bright!

I live pretty close to Galveston. So I imagine if you live in Houston you will need to do a few test drives to determine how early you need to leave to make it on time in worst case traffic scenarios. I know a lot of other people choose to rent a living space on the island.

Is it true that you have to get a large portion of your credits from UT in order to apply to UTMB?
