UT, BCM, TCU, and TWU CRNA 2019

Published

I will start the thread that will consume most of our lives in the upcoming months. I am applying to these schools in Texas and a couple in Louisiana for classes starting in 2019. I have worked in the ICU for 7 years. I have shadows several CRNAs and I am ready to get this show on the road. It will be a long journey but the end result will be well worth the struggles. I wish everyone the best with their upcoming journey with applications and interviews.

HI Lonestar,

I could not apply to TWU last year bc of the chem

Now that they are doctorate, they have college algebra as a requirement. SO i took it this first summer session online and man, it took more time than i thought the class should take. Worst part was doing all the homework online thru some site.

I was a biology major, so have gone up to calculus 1.

But i am glad its done - so i can apply this year.

COngrats on the TCU interview JMascorro !! I hear its laid back.

Whats your stats? (if you do not mind sharing).

My GRE is beyond horrible....i rushed it to just apply and i knew i had no shot at TCU or BCM bc they favor that GRE score.

I have an MBA...so i was hoping they would take that in consideration - they do not.

Sorry to hear that some did not get an interview with BCM. I got the invite for an interview August 25th. Hope we hear good news for UT in the upcoming week.

My Stats are not fantastic but I guess good enough. I have like a 3.5 gpa (bs degree x2), gre 310, 7 years ICU

Thanks Jmascorro !!

Yea by NuringCAS i have a overall 3.52 (associates, 2 bachelors, MBA). Killer is the LOW GRE :(

2 years ICU

Lets see how it works out.

I am open to ears about applying out of state as well. Any ideas?

Hello all! I got denied an interview at Baylor as well. I knew it was a long shot due to my GRE scores. I'm hopeful for UT and I do have an interview at OLOL on August 15. If anyone will be down there that day or the night before let's met up!

HI Alj, congrats on the interview. Is it at Our lady of lake Baton Rouge? Man i should have applied there as well but didnt

Where else did you apply? Trying to figure out where else to apply.

Thanks.

Yes, in Baton Rouge. I did Baylor, UT, and OLOL this round. I'm going to do TWU and two programs in my home state of California. I really don't want to move, but there is a strong possibility that I might have to. Thanks so much!

My GRE score was not fantastic... the math killed me!! So I'm looking for programs that don't require it or put as much emphasis on it. I refuse to let a test ( that measures absolutely nothing) hold me back! I'm going wherever I can get in!

I also have my MSN/MHA and your right they don't care about it at all

Congrats! It's a very hard program to get into so u should be very proud!

Nice Alj !! I was in an MHSA before i switched to an MBA.

Yea the GRE, the math killed me as well. Obviously, if i had to do it again, i would focus and study it well.

Cant do much about it now.

I too am looking at other programs that dont require GRE. I have an interview coming at MTSA in Madison. I hear its pretty tough interview but also that its a good program.

We shall see....i wouldnt like to move either but if it means i can start asap then i am out !! haha
