UT Arlington RN-BSN spring 2010

Is anyone registered for the UT Arlington online RN-BSN spring 2010 program? Or already enrolled from last semester? If so, how do you like it?

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering for those who were accepted into the program, did u complete the 3 required pre- nursing courses (Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, & Intro. to Nursing) before starting the first official semester of the Nursing Program at UTA? Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you~

I would love to hear any input about the courses that you have taken in the RN to BSN AP program through UT-A. I am taking Professional Nursing Transition and Vulnerable Populations right now. Thanks so much!

ok you guys... this is not a program that gives you your RN license... you have to have your RN license before you can enroll in this program... It is a bridge RN-BSN program for people who have their RN (which is an Associates Degree in Nursing) who want to get their Bachelors in Nursing.

If you don't have your RN license, then the program you will want to get into is called just a BSN program. You get your license at the end of the 4 years when you pass your NCLEX exam.

In my case, since I had most of my prereqs done a long time ago, it is faster for me to get my RN license (only takes 4 semesters), and then to get my bachelors (through an RN-BSN program like the one at UTA) it is only two more semesters after that. Even though I 've been in college off and on for about 8 years, it will only take me a total of 3 to get my bachelors from here.

me too, no book required, did I read that right. I am looking forward to a nursing class, already took statistics, tech writing and texas government.

Do you know if they require Chemistry as a pre-req anymore?

no they do not require chemistry, i took it in high school .

Can you pursue your BSN degree without actually working as an RN? Sounds like a strange question, but I am trying to keep my current job (outside of nursing profession) for as long as possible for financial reasons.

Yes, yes you can. As long as you're a licensed RN, you can get your BSN degree online. In fact, that's why a lot of people are doing the RN-BSN transition program.......... because no one's hiring ADNs.

Hi Kately,

I am starting the RN-BSN program this Fall and am so confused about several things and don't know where to go for the answers. I am taking my History II class along with my Nursing courses and am wondering if this textbook (Created Equal) is a package only available at UTA or can I just buy it anywhere?

In addition, how long did it take you to actually complete the program?

The Nursing Electives...cooperative nursing. Is that an elective everyone has to take or only those that are not currently working as RN's?

Sorry for all the questions, the website really doesn't have that many answers.

Thank you and congrats on finishing!
