UT arlington PMHNP Fall 2016

Nursing Students NP Students

Published

Hello my fellow nurses, has any one on here been accepted into the University of Texas at Arlington for their PMHNP program starting Fall 2016? I have been accepted and was hoping to connect with others starting as well. Or if you attended the program or are currently in it could you please give me some insight into what the program entails. There are so few psych NPS out there so it'll mean a lot if I get responses. Thanks!

I have been accepted and start this Fall! Exciting. See you this Friday. Sending you a PM.

I heard that the Fall 2016 class has been put on hold. Is that what you heard at orientation?

Incorrect info... We got our degree plans and will be starting fall 2016 just like all other NP tracks.

Hello everyone,

I applied before March . I haven't received a response either way☹️. I've called and emailed advisor and I've never even received a follow up call.

Have you talked with Stephanie Williams-Neal? She is the one person in the nursing school when I was applying that always replied and was helpful.

Hello , Stephanie is the one that I originally started speaking with prior to March. She emailed me back in June asking to make sure my CV and I verified that I had sent it. I have great GPA , references and experience. I just would have liked a response either way . I've even emailed others just to verify and everyone says Stephanie is contact. I've called -and emailed . I have one acceptance but it won't start until next year. I'm seeing psych patients and I would like to get certified . I love psych!

Thanks for response !

Is the program offered in hybrid or online delivery?

A couple of the core classes like advanced physiology and advanced pharmacology have an online delivery option but all of the psychiatric nurse practitioner specific classes are on campus only as are many of the other core classes like theory. Looking at my degree plan it looks like 80%+ of the classes are on campus delivery only.

I am currently a student there in the PMHNP program. Patho, pharm and only a few others are 100% online. the others have lab or lecture days but it's usually only once every 2 weeks. Some have a few weeks where you go once. I will be more than happy to answer any questions I possibly can.

I am set to graduate next summer.....if all goes well :-)

classes require a trip to campus once every 2 weeks, only occasionally do you have to go more than that.

some classes are even less than that.

Danadlong, are you doing the MSN PMHNP or Certificate ? Can I PM you for a few questions?

Thanks
