UT Arlington Online RN-BSN July 2, 2012 Hopefuls

I have all my transcripts and paperwork sent into UTA and am expecting to start the RN-BSN online program on 07/02/2012. I have received acceptance to the university, but not to the Nursing Department yet. Anybody else planning on starting the online program in early July? If so have you heard anything from the Department of Nursing at the college?

For APA, I use the software PERRLA and it is fantastic and easy to use. I highly recommend it...it was very inexpensive on Amazon.com. I am not buying any books for this class so far...

Have any of you heard of straightliner college credits?? I was just reading about it and those courses would be awesome if they did for sure transfer to UTA!

I cannot seem to send a PM to your request, so here is the info. Prof A is very simple the first few weeks. There is an APA paper due at the end of week 2 (the reason you chose nursing). You should be able to start the class early around Aug 9th or 10th, so you can get a jump on all the assignments that are due and what is involved in each. For the July 2nd start, we were able to get into our class June 29th. I went on vacation during week 3 but did bring a laptop so I could work a little. Good Luck!

I have put off Stats as long as possible. I am thinking of taking it in Jan because my class schedule is full till December. If you take it keep us posted! This fall I have N3335, 3325, & 3425. That's about all I can handle after taking 3 classes this summer.

What books are you guys going to buy for Professional nursing A&B. I figured I better get the APA made easy, but not sure if I need the other?!!!! Any ideas

I already have the APA book, but I, too have heard about PERRLA, the software program and I intend on getting that. Regarding any other books for this class.....I didn't think there were any. I have the list in front of me and it only mentions the APA book.

You really do not need any books or programs for Prof A & B. They give you lots of resources in the course to help and guide you through the work (example papers). It is similar to Tech Writing but much easier. After you finish Prof A, you can take another nursing course the 2nd 5 week schedule. I just finished A and will take B with N3335 during the last 5 weeks. After that I will probably not be doubling up anymore.

What is n3335? The perrla program is just a APA format maker...you don't do anything to it. It shortens your time on papers. I think there is a free trial online on their website. It really saves you time and your APA format will be perfect. :). It's awesome and highly recommend it!
