Hello everyone,

I'm due to start the program Aug 13th. Sounds like most of you have already begun. That's great. I'm sort of nervous about starting and how I'm going to handle my life with so much pressure to accomplish assignments and so forth. Anyone else work full time? I do. I'm hoping we can meet up here from time to time to offer moral support and inspiration to each other. I plan on taking Prof Nursing A/B along with Hist II to start. I only have Hist, and the 2 gov classes to take as gen courses.

I'm about half way through the program. Hopefully I will finish by December. I started in october but had a couple pre reqs to do. I started the first nursing course (professional nursing a & b) in January. I've been doubling up and taking two classes at a time because I want to finish quickly and get my bsn done and over with lol. So far it isn't too bad. Some assignments may be time consuming but you just have to manage your time and put aside some time to work on assignments. But overall I think it's a good program, it's organized weekly and they tell you what's due each week. I don't think the assignments are hard but some may be time consuming on how you work and do your assignments.

Hi. I'm starting on the Aug 13th start date. Any info you can give would be appreciated. Do they give the assignments a little in advance to you can work on them and send them in early? I work full time, which means 3 days/week and I'm worried about not having the day off when an assignment is due. What about sleep? (ha ha)

I also start nursing professional A & B 08/13 and just can't wait to get this over with, lol. I also work full-time and have a 1-year old, who keeps me very busy! I will be taking courses back to back one at a time through UTA. Additionally, I am enrolled in one course through my CC which is a literature class (16 weeks). So in all actuality , I will always have 2 classes going this fall. I am a little nervous b/c I will be going on vacation the second week of the course and its for 6 days. I am confident I will be able to get started on week 2 assignments during the first week... at least I hope so!! Anyway, good luck to all of you.

Usually there is discussion board or quiz due in the middle of the week like wednesday. Most assignments and papers are due Saturday or Sunday. The assignments are divided weekly so for instance in week one you would have discussion board usually due Wednesday and then maybe a quiz or paper due Saturday or Sunday. I work about 5-6 days a week, 8 hr shifts and I did not struggle with the assignments. I would work on them after work or on my day off. I suggest you get a calendar and mark when everything is due and then use time management to figure out when you would set aside time for school

I will be new to writing in APA format. When I got my BS in business 20 years ago, I think we wrote in ML something. Think I will be OK in professional nursing A. Supposed to start August 13th. Thanks for any information.

Hi Rosemrn,

I'm glad to see there is someone else starting Aug 13th, as I am. I also received a BS many years ago (1988), which was in a discipline other than nursing, of course. I'm hoping to meet up here with anyone who will be taking classes at the same time so we can help each other. I'll be taking Prof Nurs A along w/ either history or gov. Do you have any gen courses to take?

I'll be with you in Prof Nurs A starting 8/13, as will some others here. I'm hoping to have as many students as possible meet here with posts throughout this ordeal so we can offer support and help. Regarding your vacation coming up, have you thought about taking a laptop along with you to keep up with everything? May not be necessary, I don't know.

I have 3 prereqs to take Hist I because I made a D when I took it my first semester back in 1981. I also have to take Texas gov't and a literature class. I plan just to take professional nursing A in August by itself. REally nervous about getting back into school! We will have to keep in touch!

I will have to take my laptop with me on vacation to make sure I don't miss anything. I could also work on my plane ride. Since there are no direct flights to our destination from our city, I will have time. I decided that I don't want to put off school for this vacation...

We can open up a new thread so we can keep in touch once August 13th rolls around for support and help!! :-)

I would love to keep in touch with as many people as possible once we all start in Aug. I am new to posting here, so I don't know how to start a new thread. Hope you do. Secondly, how was history II? I'm thinking of taking it along with Prof Nurs A. I need to take 2 together so this whole endeavor doesn't take me forever to complete. Can you give me any insight about the class?
