Another thread on laptops included comments about using a white (dry erase) board for studying. At least a couple people expressed interest in hearing how others use their white board to study, so I'm starting a new thread on the topic.

If you love using a white board to study, tell us your favorite techniques for using the board.

I have to say I LOVE this idea. I too like to pretend like I'm teaching the information or giving a presentation and using a white board would be a big help. I'll be keeping my eyes open for sales. I assume with the back to school sales coming up I'm bound to get a good deal on one.

The only problem is going to be keeping the kids away from it! Thanks for the great ideas guys :D

YouTube has a couple of DIY on making small dry erase boards (cute for young school aged kids during homework time)...but I have seen where you can purchase white dry erase board paint and transform a wall in your house...Do any of you guys know of a person who has tried this method yet? Making your board whatever size you want!! Hardware stores (Lowes, Home Depot, etc...) have dry erase boards you can have cut to your desired size as well. Just throwing out some cheaper ways if you want bigger boards I currently don’t use this method but I’m making preparation to begin this coming fall. :)

I love my dry erase board!! I honestly dont know how I could have made it through organic chemistry with all those resonance structures and lonnngg formulas without having a couple of boards nailed around my apartment.

I honestly think it's something that is affordable and will help for years to come. I've had mine for about 3 years now.
