Usfca university of San Francisco BSN SPRING 2017

Published

Hey everyone!

has anyone else applied for spring 2017 bsn program at USF? I know we'll be getting admission decisions soon!

I got accepted!!!!! I start clinicals SPRING 2017!!!! So excited!! I am confused, do we need to get CPR certification, immunizations and drug test before 1/2/17? I am 1 of 10 transfer students that got accepted and so incredibly thankful and elated! Is there a USF Nursing 2017 cohort Facebook group?

Congrats to all!! And to those that did not get in, you will get in! Just keep trying!

how do you know only 10 transfer students were accepted?

we should get an email about health requirements later today. Registration is out of our hands until we finish webtrack which isn't available until January 3rd (?) ugh

Is anyone planing to live in SF??

Nope I'm commuting about 40 mins with no traffic probably going to Bart and muni though

my family are advising me to do the same thing since I live in San Jose , but how can we get to clinicals ? Do you think there will be public transportation?

i think there will be public transportation but it may not be reliable or be very far from some clinical sites. I'm not 100% sure tbh but I think it's best to drive to clinical sites and get there earlier than scheduled. Don't want to be late for clinicals! Ever!

the only issue with parking is when the streets have limited hours. Then it's public transpo from far away :( some places have parking but it's not common

I keep seeing people have already registered for their "block"? I am coming in as a transfer and don't have an opting to register for classes yet. Whom should I contact with regards to this at USF?

You are guaranteed your classes and will have one or two blocks to chose from once you can. Us students already enrolled filled up ~10 blocks back in November. Don't stress about it. It's out of your hands this time but come fall you can pick from all the blocks :)

@mothernurseclub This could be true regarding transfers starting this spring. But they admit many transfers that will start in the fall and spring 2018

Guys,

I think I might start another career... As a panhandler....

just got the email regarding health requirements. We have literally 3 weeks to fulfill them.

what color scrubs do they have to be? Could you share your list of supplies needed for clinicals please we didn't even get that list yet :sorry:

Hi Mothernurseclub:

I stopped by the admission and finical aid office. I happen to run into one of the admission counselors and I asked how many transfer student were accepted. They informed me that I was 1 out of 10. Transfer students have a harder time getting into this program because it is based on clinical spots. The clinical spots tend to be reserved for the student that have been at USF since their freshmen year.

Do we have a USF Facebook group yet? My wife is in the MEPN program at UCSF and her cohort has a Facebook group page that has proven to be incredibly helpful with regards to communicating ride shares, housing, due dates, information sharing in general. Just a thought...

Congrats to everyone!

I'm scrabbling to schedule my physical, get my CPR certification, and all of my titers/vaccinations etc.

I'm literally bleeding money I don't have...:wacky:

Still waiting on my financial aid award letter.
