Usfca university of San Francisco BSN SPRING 2017

Published

Hey everyone!

has anyone else applied for spring 2017 bsn program at USF? I know we'll be getting admission decisions soon!

Guys,

I think I might start another career... As a panhandler....

..... So many fees :roflmao:

just got the email regarding health requirements. We have literally 3 weeks to fulfill them.

Wait, Do you mean You don't wanna do nursing anymore ?

Wait, Do you mean You don't wanna do nursing anymore ?

Noooo lol it was a joke about how expensive it is just to ENTER the program that I am considering taking a job as a panhandler to cover my expenses

Do we have a USF Facebook group yet? My wife is in the MEPN program at UCSF and her cohort has a Facebook group page that has proven to be incredibly helpful with regards to communicating ride shares, housing, due dates, information sharing in general. Just a thought...

Congrats to everyone!

I'm scrabbling to schedule my physical, get my CPR certification, and all of my titers/vaccinations etc.

I'm literally bleeding money I don't have...:wacky:

Still waiting on my financial aid award letter.

dont think so you could make one

what color scrubs do they have to be? Could you share your list of supplies needed for clinicals please we didn't even get that list yet :sorry:

Mae don't have an official one either. Just what was discussed in our 170 class. White scrubs (you can buy your own and put the USF patch on it), white shoes, a stethoscope and a lab coat. Since we have clinicals the first week (at school for most of us) we have to have our uniform and I think that's it. We'll get a shopping list later I'm sure, lol :)

@ gio.matteo.lara as for the FB group, I'm not sure what's allowed at USF and I don't believe there is one (I've been at USF for a year as a spring 17 start so I would have hoped I'd heard of one by now) and it's so cool you wife is in the UCSF MEPN program! What an amazing opportunity!!!!

Just a heads up. I learned that at USF you have to triple check your info. I have run into this a few times at USF. USF staff will tell one person info and another person completely different info or it the original info ends up being half true. Not so important in this case but VERY important with other information. They have been admitting transfers into this spring cohort for a year. Spring seems to be made up of 90% transfers. Fall is made up of 90% freshmen (out of high school).

THANK YOU! Where will u be getting ur shoes from? Are u getting "nursing" shoes from those uniform stores?

I'm a second career "nurse" and have spent the last 12 years in danskos. I wasn't sure about spending the money on ugly white danskos ($$$), but I've never had problems from being on my feet most of the day so I figured I'd better stick with what works even though I can't afford them. They aren't for everyone, but they have worked wonders for me. But I'm older so if you're younger maybe it wouldn't matter so much, lol :)

hahaha okay:)) I was shocked lol

Hi, whoever said all the accepted students will receive a detailed email regarding the next steps by 5pm yesterday has received an INCORRECT info. Just called in the counselors' office today and spoke to the head counselor, and he said there are no deadlines such as that because letters are still being sent out, and some applicants are in waiting pool where they're waiting for spots to open up once the accepted students reject their admission. Also, mail comes first before email so when an applicant is confirmed to have received his/her acceptance letter, the admission office is notified THEN the email is sent out. Just to let all of you know! (:

Hi there , I was the one who said that and I was correct.

l got an email yesterday December 20 at 4:46pm!!! And I was talking about a detailed email about the next steps (drug test, back ground cheack , physical test...etc) for those who got accepted . On the email, it says that the dadeline for all documents was supposed to be December 15. However, since we got our admission letters so close to the dadeline, we have until January 15 to submit everything!!! I even made my payment ($117.95) for the drug test , back ground cheack and medical document!! Also mad appointment to do my vaccines and physical test for today.

If i did not spoke to someone from the school and was not told that we would get an email I won't say that. I am not here to give wrong information lol I was just trying to pass the info because I know someone out there is wondering what the next step is :)

I submitted my deposit on Monday and received that email which you are talking about last night. It stated if you do not have health requirements uploaded into castle branch by the January 15 deadline you will not be able to start clinicals this spring. The email was not helpful except for stating the deadline. All the info in that email is posted on the myusf website for next steps for nursing students.

If you are awaiting admission I suggest you do your requirements now. Better safe than sorry.

May I know the name of the person you spoke to? That person definitely gave you the wrong information because both me and my friend got our acceptance package yesterday but still have not received any email regarding next steps yet. Like I mentioned earlier, it could be that those who got acceptance letters over the weekend received the email because the admission office has been notified that packages have been sent to you guys already. However, those who still haven't heard any word back from USF still wouldn't have received the email because the head counselor stated the email will only be sent after they have been confirmed the mail has been delivered.

He confirmed that the whole 5pm information is incorrect because there are no deadlines from USF about the email since letters are still being sent out and there are still students on the wait-list.
