Hi! I've seen other threads like this one. Pretty much it is just a support thread of anyone who is applying to the University of South Florida's Fall 2017 nursing class. There are threads for about every other year except 2017, so I am starting it. If there is anyone else who just wants to talk to someone going through the process like me, feel free to reply to this discussion.
Good luck to anyone applying to nursing school this semester. I understand first hand how nerve racking it can be!
Okay, so I might be wrong with this. But I contacted the head of admissions and asked how competitive I am. i have a 3.71 and she said she couldn't tell me an specifics, but that I am highly competitive and all I can do is just wait.
I know USF is EXTREMELY competitive and hard to get into. I cannot stress that enough. It is so hard hahaha
I had applied for cycle 1 and received an email 7 days after the deadline. We should all find out very soon if we are accepted / denied a interview. Good luck everyone! Many of you have really great GPAs. The average overall GPA for those granted a interview for the first cycle was a 3.88 I have found out that it is extremely difficult to not only get into USFs nursing program, but all community college nursing programs as well. Wishing everyone perseverance to never give up, the struggle is real
Hi everyone, I just found this site. Really interesting to read what other people who applied have to say.. Has anyone interviewed with USF before? Kind of nervous about the interview... If i get one... Does anyone know how many people get interviews and how many people are actually admitted to the program?
I got into PHSC's nursing program for the fall, but I applied to USF's just for the fun of it and it being the college I'd truly prefer if given the opportunity. I have a 3.74 pre req GPA, so who knows what will happen.
I did email USF yesterday though and they said we should know whether or not we are accepted within the next week and a half.

You're absolutely right. The average GPA at PHSC for this upcoming semester's applicants was 4.0 and I believe the TEAS was 80, which is pretty high. A lot of places are competitive or getting more competitive.
This is the only year they have had two cycles and they are not planning to do it again next year. They are both for fall 2017. Cycle 1 had been in March. Normally there is only 1 cycle and in March, they had decided to do things differently this year. It's rumored only a small amount of people had been selected for cycle 1 and more people will have a chance of being admitted for cycle 2

Yeah I interviewed for usf last summer and it was too bad. Extremely nerve wracking. They ask you 5 questions. Many were scenario based. My interview lasted like 3-4 minutes lol

Hey guys, any idea when interview decisions come out or how they will be announced?
Also I'm not a native USF student but I would like to get an idea of how competitive the program is and what GPA range is acceptable.
