USF Non-RN MSN Summer 2016

Published

Hi There! I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying for USF's Non-RN MSN CNL program for Summer 2016.

Best of luck to everyone!

Thats weird ngarcia731 because according to FAQ 10... "Do you look at the entire undergraduate transcript or just the last 60 credits of the undergraduate GPA?

We look at the cumulative GPA from your undergraduate degree, as well as GPAs from all institutions attended. We look at the prerequisite grades separately. The average GPA for admitted students is 3.4."

But yeah, not getting a rejection e-mail or having your application status update to say you were rejected is a good thing. I retrieved that info from the USF MSN-CNL Summer 2015 Cohort thread, so it's definitely possible that admission processes could have changed from last year to this year.

@KO-1219 I was referring to dominican u not considering the UG grades. Sorry for the confusion... I'm new to this and should word things more carefully!

I'm glad I'm not the onl y one obsessing over admission... the stress is getting old!

Does anyone know when exactly the program starts? Just curious :) Thanks!

May 23

If it does start May 23 I don't know what I will do because my final for Microbiology I'm currently taking this semester is scheduled for May 25th! :/ I expected it to start in june. Have to def figure that out if I get accepted

Are we sure rejection letters were sent out? I wonder if the applicant was referring to University of South Florida......

Congrats @KO_1219! USF sent rejection letters on Tuesday so I think it's a really positive sign that you haven't heard from them yet. I've read from past threads that they do acceptance calls rather than emails.

I"m pretty sure this user was referencing University of San Francisco b/c past threads have indicated phone acceptance calls, and I think this user is a local as this applicant was just accepted to Samuel Merritt's ELMSN program. However, I'm not completely sure if rejection letters/emails were actually sent out. As of right now, I'm just thinking no news is good news and trying to stay patient although it is tough!!!

I spoke with someone in admissions yesterday who told me that decisions will be out mid to late march... sorry guys, we are in for a wait.

Mid to late March for a MAy 23rd start? Jeez!

Thanks for the update ngarcia. Wish USF was a little faster considering the start date is coming up quick. Anyways, folks be sure to complete your FAFSA as the priority deadline is coming up (I think Mar 1). It's possible some applicants received rejections after preliminary screenings such as not having at least a C in a prerequisite or something like that. Here's to another month of waiting :bluecry1:

Yep...my thought is that if there were any GLARING imperfections a candidate would be notified pretty early on.

My guess (based on obsessing over past threads) is that the people who are their top choices will find out closer to mid-march, and as they give up their seats or fail drug tests, etc., others will be notified. You will notice on past threads that some people are accepted and notified WEEKS before others.

It's TORTURE. A lot of local programs (bay area) are not taking new applicants because their waitlists are so full, so I'm guessing that for that reason, more people may be applying to USF.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let you guys know that I emailed the admissions office yesterday and they said that acceptances/rejections will be sent out in the next 2-3 weeks via the email you listed on your application.

Waiting is killing me!

Good luck all!
