USF Non-RN MSN Summer 2016

Published

Hi There! I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying for USF's Non-RN MSN CNL program for Summer 2016.

Best of luck to everyone!

There was a lot of mixed information on the site. I ended up reducing my PS from 3 pages to exactly 2 pages. To me the shorter version ended up great, very personalized yet specific to USF.

So, does anyone know when we should expect to hear back from admissions? I hope I'm not the only one constantly checking my email and application daily. This is my top choice and I have all but bitten my fingertips off waiting for their decision. I wish you all the best.

Ah, very good to know, that was my only question, when will we hear back. Thanks

I emailed someone in admissions the other day and they told me around March 15th is when we will be hearing. So a little over a month! :/

Sounds about right. Last year, the first admitted students were finding out through the application portal on March 10. I was hoping that since the deadline was pushed up two weeks, we'd hear a little bit sooner. The waiting has been excruciating =/

Hi Everyone!

This is my second time applying, I applied for Spring 2016 term and was rejected. I did have 3 classes in progress at the time and am re-taking one of those classes, anatomy. I changed one of my recommenders and changed up my personal statement to add more of a personal connection to nursing. Very eager to find out what the decisions will be! Good luck to all of us! :)

and the waiting game still continues... ah. Good luck everyone!

Did anyone write a personal statement over 2 pages long? Mine is 3 pages.

In the fall the requirement was 1-3 pages but I just realized for this term it is 2 pages :/

I'm in the same boat as you! I even checked the requirements right before I submitted the application.

I emailed Tamara White last week asking if 3 pages will reflect poorly on me because the admissions committee will think I didn't follow directions. She responded "The limit on the personal statement length is simply a guidance and will not affect your application decision in anyway."

Such a relief :)

Those were the same thoughts going through my head!

Thank you! :) I just took a sigh of relief as well!

Thanks for letting us know. I tried calling her multiple times, but it always goes to VM. Was meaning to e-mail her, but thanks to you, I've got my answer!

Any of you guys apply to other programs? The waiting game has been rough...

This is the only program I've applied to...it's the only one I want to be in haha.

Anxiety levels are definitely high as decision period is getting closer! :nailbiting:

Wow, well at least you know exactly what you want and won't sell yourself short in order to get it. I'll bet USF will appreciate your tenacity and improved application since the last app cycle. May I ask is it the school, city, or the actual CNL aspect of the program that you're primarily interested in?
