USF MSN CNL non nurse spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone. I was searching for a thread but could not find one so I am starting this discussion topic for USF MSN non nurse spring 2018 applications.

Lets all discuss our stats like GPA, volunteer experience, etc. I have a decent prerequisite GPA right now. I have registered for Micro and psychology and will be taking in fall. My undertgrad GPA is 3.15 in computer applications (not that good). After working in customer service I was no longer interested in computers so decided to change my major.

Lets start this journey together and good luck to everyone.

Am so sorry to hear about the rejections all :( don't lose hope tho, we will all be nurses one day!! If it's okay to ask, were these notifications for the main SF campus? If so, did you just receive an email update?

Did y'all find out through email?

Yes this was for the SF campus and I received an email from USF at 3:15pm stating I had an "admission status update online." I logged in and it took me to a denial letter.

Yep got denied. I was super busy at work so I couldn't dwell on it. It helped lessen the blow but let me just say DAMN. On to the plan B (sigh). To those who also got rejected, keep your heads up and don't give up. We will become RN's one day as long as we don't give up. When there's a will, there's a way. Good luck to those still waiting!

Sorry to hear about the rejections. Good luck to you all with future applications.

I don't think so because they knew your grade when you filled out the prereqs... but call the office just to make sure.

i would def call to make sure. just keep calling until you get through. Did your acceptance letter say anything about dropping courses? i know in the past with a few friends that got accepted to programs they said that if they were to change their "in progress" class schedule, their acceptance could be taken back. Its always better to just call and make sure. USF doesn't require a chemistry but if you've started maybe it would be best to keep it? but also it could also change your gpa at the end.

Were your friends also admitted to USF? yeah, the thing is I didn't even list it on my in-progress course work on my app.. but of course I will keep trying to call! Thanks!

edit: is there a way for me to review my application and see if there are any disclaimers about it?

I'm sorry to hear about the rejections. Don't lose hope. Let this make you stronger and give you more strength to reapply. This is my second time applying to USF. I hope they can see our determination when we reapply. Best of luck and hope we all become RN's someday.

No my friends were admitted to samuel merritt's ABSN and MSN FNP program. If you didn't add it to your application, then i don't see that it would be an issue, but it would make me paranoid. I would just keep calling to get an answer before the weekend.

Hi Kate, I sent mine exactly on 9/1.

Sorry to hear those who were rejected - keep chugging along and try to keep your chin up.

Also: try grammarly to edit your personal statements, it helped me a lot on my own work. I also recommend trying online health certification classes or classes provided by the county (sometimes for free or discounted).

anyone still waiting for a SF status update? I didnt receive mine yet

I received an email about a status update. I was not admitted to the program :'( I feel like becoming a nurse is just a dream that will never come true sigh...
