USF MSN CNL non nurse spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone. I was searching for a thread but could not find one so I am starting this discussion topic for USF MSN non nurse spring 2018 applications.

Lets all discuss our stats like GPA, volunteer experience, etc. I have a decent prerequisite GPA right now. I have registered for Micro and psychology and will be taking in fall. My undertgrad GPA is 3.15 in computer applications (not that good). After working in customer service I was no longer interested in computers so decided to change my major.

Lets start this journey together and good luck to everyone.

@macyymace Thank you for the words of encouragement. I've been looking through all the previous threads to get an idea of how long it takes for waitlisted people to hear back and how many people they accept. It really varies, sometimes they accept more than you'd expect and sometimes I only saw a few. Some waitlisted people got a call a few days after acceptance calls when out and some people got it throughout the month up until a few days before orientation, I guess it depends on when people accept or decline their offer.

Praying a lot and hoping for the best.

does anyone know if there for sure is a ranking list or if the people are re evaluated again once a spot opens on the waitlist?

I spoke with Erin not too long ago as well, and like you all know already..they are delayed with the SF campus. She said the reviewing committee is still finalizing decisions and they hope to have decisions within "the next week or so" The waiting continues....

Thank you for the update!

I think I read somewhere that USF doesn't list people down in order but instead that if a spot opens up, they look at the list and see who would be the best fit for the cohort. Also because of all the delay some people are declining their offers because they committed to other schools! Best of luck.

@helloimkate thanks for the info! Do u know or have u read somewhere about how many people tend to be on the waitlist?

@warsh26 somewhere in the past threads people thought that it was enough to fill a whole new cohort just in case... so I'm assuming for the OC campus about 26-30 people?

This is all info I've gotten from the past threads so I'm really unsure but they're all I can rely on right now, lol

@helloimkate lol I know right! I literally dig through the pages in the old threads trying to look for patterns. That's crazy though, that's a long waitlist. Have u been waitlisted too?

You'd expect there to be like 10. I emailed Erin asking how long the waitlist tends to be and she replied now saying it varies depending on the application pool, sometimes it's short sometimes it's long but idk if that helps at all lol. Like they know how many people are on it for this pool so idk why they can't just give a number. I know SMU gives you your rank out of how many people there are.

I haven't been waitlisted-- this is my first time applying to any schools, and USF is the only one that I applied to because I haven't taken any of the tests for the other schools, and it's my #1 choice so I wanted to see if I could get in. I'm waiting for the response from the main campus, and I'm hoping for an acceptance, but the waitlist is good for me too-- as long as it's not a rejection.

Yes! Great idea!

@warsh26 I was on the waitlist 2 cycles ago and USF does not have a numbered one. When I spoke with someone shortly after I was waitlisted, they told me that I would hear back about my status within a few weeks. They explained it was not numbered and that when people decline their spot, they would revisit the waitlist group. Erin explained to me sometimes they would take a handful of people, sometimes none at all. It is all very dependent on the applicant pool. But don't fret! I have been waitlisted and I finally got a call back from SMU! So those of you who have been WL'd...keep pushing! You WILL get there eventually. I am living proof! Everyone stay positive, and congrats to those who got in so far! :)

Anyone know if USF Main Campus has send out rejections? Or just no word at all from them?

@monitvillegas I spoke with a friend earlier and he told me a buddy of his got his rejection email about 2 weeks ago. So I'm assuming if you haven't heard from them yet, it's safe to say you're either waitlisted or accepted
