USF MSN CNL non nurse spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone. I was searching for a thread but could not find one so I am starting this discussion topic for USF MSN non nurse spring 2018 applications.

Lets all discuss our stats like GPA, volunteer experience, etc. I have a decent prerequisite GPA right now. I have registered for Micro and psychology and will be taking in fall. My undertgrad GPA is 3.15 in computer applications (not that good). After working in customer service I was no longer interested in computers so decided to change my major.

Lets start this journey together and good luck to everyone.

Yeah thanks everyone! Cheers to one more week of waiting :D

Hi Spring 2018 applicants!

Just wanted to say hi and good luck! I was admitted into the Fall 2017 cohort at Orange County and I remember the waiting around and the continual refreshing of that application page :D. Hang in there and don't give up!

Hi etcleary,

Thank you and hope your off to a great start with the program! Do you remember if the OC campus released decisions around the same time as the main campus? How are the stats of your cohort? Does everyone have a lot of experience with health related volunteer/jobs ?

Hello macyymace!

Thank you! I don't remember if the OC decisions were released around the same time as the main campus but only because there was a separate all nurses page for the orange county branch. A few of my classmates have had experience as EMTs, some worked as CNAs, and others had very little experience in working in health related jobs. Before I was accepted, I only had six months of volunteering at a local hospital where I worked at the front desk. I think USF does a good job of mixing students that have a lot of experience with those who don't have a lot of health related experience. Some of us had never set foot in a patient hospital room before the first day of clinicals.

@ etcleary,

Thank you so much for all the info! This definitely puts my mind to ease a little instead of just constantly checking my app online! I love how you all have different experience levels with health care, this is why USF is my number one choice. I feel like they take a hollistic approach in applicant selection. :) How do you like the program so far?

hi everyone; good luck!! I think we will hear back next week? but I really hope its this week

Hello everyone. So I called USF as I had a question but it was not related to nursing app. I also asked them about the decisions again ;) loll. Same answer by the end of this week or the beginning of next week - this Friday or next Monday (I specifically asked them about the days).

I am not that hopeful of getting in due to the fact that I do not have any solid healthcare experience but still I want to know the decision and get over with it as the waiting game is really stressful and it is getting hard for me to concentrate on my classes :( .

Thank you for updating us! I definitely appreciate it. I was really expecting the calls to go out last week, and so when they didn't I was disappointed because the waiting is so stressful!

Keep your hopes up! A lot of the people in the forums say that USF doesn't look only at the amount of healthcare experience someone has but instead of the applicant as a whole!

Thanks for clarifying with us! Did they happen to mention if OC decisions will be coming out at the same time?

The lady over the phone did not mention any particular campus. She just referred to the decisions for Spring 2018 - Non Nurse CNL. As many people mentioned in their posts that SF campus makes all the decisions it is highly possible that we all hear around the same time period.

Still nothing! Has anyone heard or received anything?

I still haven't heard anything...so nerve wrecking!!!
