USF MSN CNL non nurse spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone. I was searching for a thread but could not find one so I am starting this discussion topic for USF MSN non nurse spring 2018 applications.

Lets all discuss our stats like GPA, volunteer experience, etc. I have a decent prerequisite GPA right now. I have registered for Micro and psychology and will be taking in fall. My undertgrad GPA is 3.15 in computer applications (not that good). After working in customer service I was no longer interested in computers so decided to change my major.

Lets start this journey together and good luck to everyone.

I'm so sorry! I figured that would have happened hahah. But still nothing on my end!

Lol.. it was funny though. My app still says - submitted . Lets see what happens next week.

omg me too! my heart dropped and I was thinking...."what about me?" lol

I literally asked the same question to myself. Hahaha...

I thought the same! I've been checking here instead of the website I'm so nervous!

Glad to have found this thread! I also applied to this program in SF and can't wait to hear back. I received news last week that I was accepted to the ABSN for Samuel Merritt which is great! I also applied to CCSF because of the low tuition but I am hearing from many that an AA degree is not the way to go. I was very excited to get an acceptance letter from Samuel Merritt as I have heard how hard it is to get into nursing school in the bay area. I am making a career change and have worked in hospitality/restaurants for 8-10 years as a general manager, human resource manager, and director of operations. I have a B.S. in Animal Science from UC Davis 3.13 GPA and a M.B.A from SFSU 3.5 GPA. I have a 3.9 GPA for the science prereqs. I have a year of volunteer experience at Sutter working for the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP). This is my first application cycle and I am thrilled to have been accepted to at least one program. Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone - I also applied to the USF MSN Entry level program for Spring 2018. Eagerly waiting to hear back like most of you. USF is my top choice, I have applied to Western University in Pomona as well and plan to apply to UCSD and Samuel Merritt later this year.

I have a 3.8 GPA for both overall GPA and science prereqs. My bachelor's degree is from San Jose State in Health Science/Public Health and I concentrated in Community Health Education. I have been a CNA since 2009 but worked in community health, health administration, health education pediatric health and geriatric health. I've worked in numerous settings such as assisted living facilities, office nonprofits and currently work in a hospital.

My volunteer work isn't health care related but I have volunteered with food distribution centers, neighborhood associations and with the humane society.

My reason for USF being my #1 choice is due to the fact it is in the Bay Area and I love the role of the CNL. The review and knowledge of health care system practices and finding ways to improve have driven me to be critical of every aspect of operation in the workplace.

I am praying I get to be here in the Bay Area to continue serving my home!

Congratulations on being accepted into Samuel Merritt!! Their ABSN program is wonderful from what I have heart.

What is your top choice?

Hey! Great stats for you seems you would be a great candidate for the CNL program at USF! I'm undecided as of now but I love the CNL role and would love to merge that degree with my M.B.A. skill set. The upside to SMU is that I will be done in 1 year and that would be great. Great to hear you have heard good things!! These programs are so expensive... best of luck!

Hi everyone I'm new to this thread.I also applied to the USF MSN Entry level program for the Spring of 2018. Has anyone received an email from the school yet? Today I received an emailed inviting me to apply to the program. This just makes me nervous. I'm wondering if this means that I was rejected? I went online to check on my application status, it still says "application summited". Has anyone received a similar email this morning as well?.

Hey Yajhaira80, I have not received any email yet. This time the whole decision process seems different from last app cycle. Don't feel that way. It might be a positive sign. I know some people called USF and they said that decisions will be out by the end of october or beginning of november. Did you call USF to check your status?

I hope it turns out positive for you.

@Yajhaira80 That is so weird! I never received an email like that and my status still says, "Submitted". If anything, I don't think it indicates that you got rejected. I think you probably got that email because you showed interest in/applied to the program? I don't know but it's best to call USF just to make sure. I'm just ready to hear back already, all this waiting is driving me CRAZYYYYY.

@5AAB and @cocoaPuffs Yes, I called and they told me the same thing. They said that the decisions were going to be made in late October or early November. Thanks for the info. and yes, I'm trying to remain positive.

Has anyone heard anything? I'm anxiously checking my phone haha
