USF ME-MSN Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

*For University of San Francisco's Entry MSN program due Sept 1, starting in Spring*

I wanted to start a thread to talk about thoughts, updates on the app process, decisions, etc. I should be submitting my application in a week or so once I finish the essays!

Good luck to us all!

Hi everyone!

congrats to everyone who was accepted to OC & SF and for those who are waitlisted, hang in there! I got accepted to OC, but I am waiting to hear back on a few other schools before I fully commit, so I might resign my spot, opening a seat for a waitlisted applicant. The only downside was I had to pay the deposit fee and the extra expenses for my immunizations, but I figured better safe than sorry. Again congrats! If I do fully commit to OC, I’ll be excited to meet everyone ?

I'm in the same boat. Hang in there those who are waitlisted!! ?

Just declined my spot for OC campus. Hopefully someone on the waitlist gets very good news soon! Best of luck everyone.

Wow I seriously just saw your post and checked my email and I had a status update from USF! I got in!

Hey guys! I know how frustrating the wait can be. Been there, done that. Last cohort, it took exactly 10 weeks before they got their letters of acceptance. When I applied we got ours exactly 9 weeks. So, any day now for y’all,

I’m from cohort 9 and I hope to meet you guys soon and good luck!

Hi, I wanted to know how the classes are structured. Would you be able to provide a glimpse from your previous semester? Are they morning/afternoon/evening/hybrid?

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I am currently waitlisted for the SF campus for Spring 2021 and have just received an email stating that they fulfilled all the spots in the cohort and that they will render a decision of my status on the first day of session which is Jan. 22nd. My question is, is it likely that a student can still get in even on the first day of class? I am contemplating applying for the Summer term but the day to apply is Jan. 15th so I would risk the chance of losing my spot on the waitlist. Has anyone ever been accepted even after the cohort's been filled and was contacted before the start date?

Hi Minh,

I am also waitlisted for Spring 2021 and did not receive an email. Regarding your question, I have read some thread but not specifically for USF that it is possible for someone to give up their spot even on the first week of class. My question is, if we reapply do we lose our waitlist status? I hope someone can shed light on this.

Hi! So I was able to get some answers. If we want to apply for Summer, we would have to cancel our Spring application because the deadline to apply for the Summer term would be Jan. 15th. If a spot becomes available, we would be notified immediately if we are next on the waitlist.

"If you have not heard from us by January 22nd, we will render a final decision on your application, and you will be able to reapply for a later term if you wish to do so."

I'm assuming that reapplying for a later term would be for the fall cycle. So I guess we still have a chance if we stay on the waitlist until the deadline of Jan. 15th if you wish to apply for the Summer term, if you're not then you should expect to hear back by the 22nd.

Hi All,

CONGRATS TO ALL THAT GOT ACCEPTED!!

I found this group after getting a notification that I was waitlisted for the OC campus.

Looking back on this thread, there are 9 (including myself) people waitlisted for the OC cohort. Checking the FB group, looks like 15 people are accepted. https://www.facebook.com/groups/384597552627014/

Does anyone recall how many spots they take? I believe 20?

Contemplating if I want to drop my WL spot and apply for the next term.

Its unfortunate that they won't tell us our ranking ?

How do you take yourself off of the waitlist? Do you have to notify the school or do you just begin a new application?

@nursecap "Do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions, or should you wish to cancel your Spring 2021 application.  Please note that should you wish to apply for another term, you will need to cancel your current application."

Looks like you need to email or call them.

Hope this helps!

Hello everyone,

Hope you guys are doing good. I am a waitlist applicant for OC campus and I was wondering if anybody is aware of how many actual people are on the waitlist? OC campus is my top school and I was just curious if anybody knows the timeline of how the waitlist works here?
