Usf fall 2016

Published

I'm starting this new thread to chat with everyone that's planning on applying to usf fall 2016.. I'm supper excited I hope that I get in.. Anybody else plan to apply to usf fall2016 nursing upper division

Congratulations to everyone who got in. I'm happy for you,

I really did bomb my interview, and I was not offered a spot.

Thursday Girl, try not to be discouraged. Now you have all the ammunition to improve next time. From what I've heard, they rarely change up those questions. I think it was extremely competitive this go-around.

Yes, I saw in previous documentation that 2 is enough, so hopefully they have not changed that requirement. Obviously now there are several of us who do not have the full series yet, so that makes me feel better.

The Hepatitis B is options University-wide but not for Nursing (due to clinicals). You can't just decline it. Again, as far as I know, we should be good with the 2 shots and getting the third + titer later.

I almost can't remember if I may have had the series along the line somewhere. I'm thinking of doing a Varicella/Hep Titer/MMR combination. I figure the price of getting it done is cheaper than getting the Varicella vaccine (I have no varicella vaccine but I've had the chickenpox). And then that way if I have HepB immunity I don't have to go through the series.

Guys, this is driving me batty! I just don't want anything to get in my way of school. I really wish I had dealt with this months ago rather than freak about it now.

Hey Lana_K I sent you a PM about your group. I don't know if you didn't get it but feel free to add me to the group. Facebook

relax try not to stress about it. A few of my friends in the program still don't have all their castlebranch stuff turned in and it doesn't affect them in the program.

Thursday Girl, I feel you frustration. I had the same thing last year (with 2 different schools). Don't get discouraged. Keep doing what you're doing. Every "no" brings you closer to "yes". Don't lose faith. Everything will happen in its own time.

I know it's easy for us to say this, we are in, but believe me, I got so many rejections, I know this feeling. Keep fighting.

How do I post on here..sigh I'm new and need some advice

I'm happy to help if you have any questions :)

Hi! I wanted to make a general post to get many feed back. Sigh I stupidly signed up at Mildred alley NYC campus. They have you sign up as a ma to transition to Lpn. I took the teas and got proficient but it's like two marks lower than they want after doing research I realize what a horrible decision it was to go to this school now idk what to do. I have no desire to be a ma

I am a current student in the SDN Fall 2015 cohort. Regarding Hep B series, we were told at orientation that as long as it was in progress, it is fine.

What should you being doing now: Get your USF health email. Once that is active, get a certified profile account. Then upload your immunization documents. Certified profile will review your records and tell you exactly what vaccinations and titers you need.

I was fully vaccinated as a child: complete MMR, Hep B, chickenpox vaccine and everything else. The only titer I had to have drawn was Hep B.

My advice is to upload your documents and see exactly what you need. Otherwise you may be making multiple doctor visits and drawing titers that you do not need.

Certified profile takes about 24 to 72 hours to review you records.

Finally, for the TB test, they accept the TB skin test or the QuantiFERON-TB blood test. If you have to have titers drawn, you may want to do the blood test, otherwise you have to go back in 48 to 72 hours to have the skin test read.

Hope this helps.

Thank you tulip43.

How is school? Any suggestions? recommendations? How do you like it?

I am trying not to stress! My friend who went through the program said they had told them as long as they were in the process it was ok. But I'm still nervous about it. I am just at a disadvantage because at the ripe old age of 33, we were never mandated to do Hep vaccine. I would hate a stupid shot to be a reason I can't do clinicals/stay in the program.
