USF Accelerated BSN Fall 2015!

Hello!

I am applying for the Fall 2015 smester in the Second Degree sequence and I wanted to see who is out there that can give me some advice or commiserate!

I am so nervous about my essay... Their instructions are slightly vague and I am unsure of how to capture their attention and convey my passion for nursing.

Do you think I will get in with 2 years CNA experience as a school "nurse" and a 3.6 pre-req GPA?

I have not received any updates yet... No Email, no Status change on SOAR and no phone call..no acceptance or denial.....

@Medic6758 -- Since you are so helpful and full of knowledge... just curious, how your schedule is laid out (i.e. lecture, lab and clinical)? Does it closely resemble the sample that was provided on the admissions page?

You are correct, you will do lectures, lab, then clinical. Word of caution, be prepared to get bombarded from day 1 with online computer simulations such as ATI, Shadow Health, and Safe Medicate, numerous chapters of reading from a fundamentals book that is massive, along with multiple chapters of pharmacology, if you not have already done so, be prepared to read numerous chapters for pathophysiology as well, and lastly, lab skills all with in the first 2 weeks.

Each clinical group has only 12 students, they do keep all the second bac student for clinical's together but not all just at TGH. My group appears to have all the second bacs in the Tampa area only, but it also depends on how many students they have as well.

I know fellow 2nd bac classmates at TGH, St. Joseph, VA, & I believe Florida hospital is all that I know of.

Hi Guys! My name is Reanna and I received my acceptance on June 12 at 11:04 am. I'm in the second degree program! I can't wait to meet everyone and start this crazy...and scary thing called nursing school. I knew a few nursing students and yes, they were busy but they all loved the USF program. So I'm hoping that no matter what we all love it and excel!
