Hello!
I am applying for the Fall 2015 smester in the Second Degree sequence and I wanted to see who is out there that can give me some advice or commiserate!
I am so nervous about my essay... Their instructions are slightly vague and I am unsure of how to capture their attention and convey my passion for nursing.
Do you think I will get in with 2 years CNA experience as a school "nurse" and a 3.6 pre-req GPA?
Thanks in advance for your responses!
Usfgrad, I have read a number of essays of previous accepted students and none of them had a title, footnote, or the numbered questions incorporated into the body of the paper. Most answered the first question on page one, the subsequent two remaining questions were answered on the second page. In addition, all the papers went pretty close to the bottom of the second page.
Hi All! Just attempted to submit my essay. Successfully uploaded my .pdf file and then clicked on the 'View' link and... Ahh! It's completely jumbled with code and special characters!!! Anyone have this issue? I tried uploading a .doc, .docx and .pdf, but all produced the same result.
Bummer, I really wanted this off my desk (I've been so consumed by it). Guess I will wait to talk to the CON after the holiday before I submit.
Hi Everyone,
I am also applying for the fall 2015 ABSN program. I submitted my application last week. I am so eager and excited. If anyone is interested in renting a room please let me know. If all works out, I may rent a room in my 2 bedroom townhouse to help out with living expenses.
I spoke with a recent grad from the program and she said it was very difficult. Time management is very important. Is there anyone on this forum that plans to work while they're in the program?
My overall GPA is the same, 3.66 and my science GPA is similar but I can't remember the number. I hope that my essay catches their attention and I get in, because I want this so bad.
I DO NOT plan on working while in the ABSN program because I feel like it's suicide. I worked 30 hrs a week while doing my BS in public health and it killed me. I cannot fathom going through the 2nd bac at USF and trying to work on top of it. Have you seen the sample schedule? In semester 3 we might be facing 3 clinicals, the classes, and lab. Holy moly.
I am excited, but I am definitely afraid. xD
Hello everyone!
I just submitted my application for BSNRA.
I'm like sweating bullets guys! My science pre req is 3.39 and my overall is 3.61. My GPAs are pretty low so hopefully this essay helps!
I don't plan on working but if I have to pay for school and rent, I might. Also does anyone have any advice on good spaces to live. I would be moving to Tampa for schooling if I were to get accepted.
Thanks and GOOD LUCK to us all!!
So I just spoke to a current student in the ABSN and she told me that the 1st and 4th semesters are the hardest. She also said that the most important thing to put in your essay are your future goals in the nursing field and don't focus so much on your life experiences rather focus on your future expectations.

SOAR status does not change until the first week following the closing of the application submission. Once your status changes to "COMMITTEE" it is only a matter of days until you get a response. I received my invitation early Sunday morning.
