Hi! Anyone applying for USF (University of South Florida) ABSN for 2017? I can't seem to find anyone!
I applied to a few other schools (for ABSN) out of the area and I am also going to look at Keiser University in Sarasota. The program is about 35K, so definitely a lot more. I am wondering if the other state schools like UF, UCF and Fl State are going to all be as competitive as USF was? ( I did not apply to UF, UCF of FL State, just curious).
What is your plan B?I am going to try a ASN with a local community college. No waste of time here! Then, I can continue to the BSN after getting my RN license.
Congratulations everyone who got it and for the ones who didn't: Don't give up!!!
I am waiting to hear back from one more school, then if that doesn't work out, then I will go the same route, ASN to BSN......sigh, the STRUGGLE IS SO REAL.
I'm not particularly sure which Orientation that would be. According to the USF Nursing website, the Orientation for the Summer Second Degree Nursing Program is on April 21st, from 7am to 5pm.
You can find the info here: Application Process | USF Health

From what I understand, all the universities are super competitive. UF's application required you to calculate all your science classes and so much more but it looks like they switched over to a centralized application system similar to physician assistant school or medical school applications. UF and USF don't require the TEAS test, UCF does.
I've heard that HCC has a waiting list, although I think they are doing away with that. Another great school is PHSC but it's in Pasco county. They have multiple campuses and nursing classes at each campus. There is also SPC. On the private side, there's UTICA and Rasmussen. Both are super expensive but they have Accelerated BSN programs.
