USF ABSN Fall 2021 St. Pete

Wanted to start a forum for anyone applying to the USF ABSN at the St. Pete campus for Fall!

I wanted to apply to the Tampa main campus but the turnaround time is super quick and starting in May seems a bit hectic for me so I decided to apply to St. Pete for the fall start date. I am super excited ? I graduated from USF with a bachelors in 2020 so I know its an amazing school and the campus is a dreaaammm

Its like they genuinely should have given us way longer than an hour if my videos are taking 20 minutes to save for a 2 minute recorded video. I'm scared the same thing is going to happen tomorrow.

wait yes I used chrome too and had trouble with the saving that’s why I’m doing a redo. did anyone else use something other than chrome?

I know. Like... especially because I feel like 2 minutes isn't even enough time to begin with the truly respond to the question and say everything I want to say. Let alone having to cut them to 1 minute long since I had to start rushing. I like the setup, I feel it helped me be calm and answer the questions better. UNF’s interview is 100000% more stressful since your on camera the entire time and have to think and answer better- you don't get to re-record yourself. But USF should give atleast an extra 15-20 minutes

I used firefox and it loaded quicker but did not realize it was chrome because I was using both trying to do more than one question at a time, I was wondering too if there was any other platform that I could use

I was able to finish but my best advice it to make sure your video is no longer than a minute and a half. Anything over that I had to re record myself because it was taking 10+ minutes to save. But if I stopped around 1 min 30 secs it seems to upload in less than 2 minutes. I used chrome! I didn't have any problems after realizing they HAVE to be less than 2 minutes for sure

I didn’t have any issues! I know my videos ranged from 1:30-2:30 and all uploaded within a minute, but I’m unsure if it was just luck or what. I used chrome and closed all of my other tabs also, and I was in a room closest to my wifi router. I do feel like I didn’t get to say “perfect” answers for anything since 1-2 min is so short to explain all of my thoughts you know ?

Yeah I agree I understand why they used this platform and did what they had to do. But I don’t understand why only an hour. I guess so nobody could cheat? Either way it’s pretty defeating I felt like I had good responses just couldn’t get them to upload ?  oh well

I am a USF alumni so I am experienced with canvas. You must use chrome! If you have to redownload it, use another computer, use a friends wifi anything. I used my boyfriends hotspot since it’s better than my wifi, I practiced all night uploading videos so my computer got used to it. Close out ALL browsers, turn off every other device using wifi. None of my answers were more than 2 minutes.  They said 1-2 minutes is perfect

 That’s what worked for me guys! I really hope it works for you all ? good luck tomorrow for makeups. You got this

I watched a recording of a webinar and they said there it will be before 5pm, sometimes in the afternoon.

Went to my boyfriends house to do the interview and his internet must have been better because the videos uploaded in around 1 minute. yay! good luck to all of you ?
