Have you googled used bookstores in your area? I got a couple of mine at a local used bookstore...also craigslist as well.

abebooks.com links to a lot of used booksellers. betterworld.com is my favorite that I've found through there - not always the lowest prices, but usually cheap, and free shipping which is a huge plus with something as heavy as textbooks. And they are supposedly socially responsible. My only problem with them is that the shipping can be slow - don't wait until the last minute to order! But I expect it's no worse than most online booksellers shipping via media mail.
(I hope I'm not making a mistake advertising them before buying my own books! :))

Also try your local craigslist. A lot of people in your area might be selling the textbooks for the same college as you're attending. www.craigslist.com

eBay is one of my favorite places to get used textbooks. I saved $100 on my Chemistry books there! Do a search on eBay to see if your book is up for bid or sale. If you need the book quickly, ask your seller how much it would cost to ship Priority Mail. Media Mail can be maddeningly slow!

Before you order any books from there, BE SURE to email them with any questions. Read this page first:

Notice that the book *may* be printed in black and white only (definitely a problem for anatomy textbooks). It *may* or *may not* have the CD, etc.
I wouldn't order any books from there without first making sure the book is exactly what I need. Then if you're satisfied, you can definitely save a lot of money.
Yes. Lucky, i get a textbook with CDRom. Yeah!!!
You may ask the web master before any purchase. I prefer cheaper prices honestly.

I use abebooks.com, alibris, amazon, ebay. Rather than buying used books I purchase International Versions they have all been same to the letter including the color pics and paper quality. The only difference is a softcover rather than hardcover but I don't mind ESPECIALLY since I only pay 20-30% of retail.
