Used Chem book

Published

Hello all,

I am taking Chem 101 online this summer from South Bend campus. Does anyone know where to get a used book?

Thanks,

Jill:bowingpur:up:

Ok all,

I just got online to view the syllabus for online Chem 101, and I'm freaken. I just ordered my book, well actually won it on Ebay yesterday, so I wont be getting it until sometime this week if I'm lucky. But after viewing the first chapter he has posted online, I think I may have gotten the wrong book. Is it the one w/ the big, white flower on it by Bettelheim? Mine says it was published in 2006, but his online says 2004, so now I am worried I have the wrong book. Also, the one I won on ebay did not mention a bundle pack, and a solutions manual. I did purchase the PIN online. Do I really need the solutions manual? I am so broke right now, my financial aid is not through yet d/t diffidulties w/ financial aid office. Anyway, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

My, posting on the internet from my instructor didn't look the same as mine either. But that is the same book as mine and I bought it from the bookstore. Green with a Big white flower on it.

This is going to be crazy online.. Hope it all works out ok for us...

Are you taking the NSG 114 class online too? Boy that is some work..we have to do there.

:no::typing this is goin to be us!!!

Im taking it out of SB too, doin some stuff out of it now. two options... one, I believe it is a brand new book (as I could not find the IBSN # anywhere) 2...the bundle and the lab pin # you have to have + overnight shipping is $323 from Ivy Tech online bookstore)

OR...you can come to my house and HELP ME!!!! then you would have the book for free lmao...Ima dork, I know NO chemistry, good choice to take it in the summer huh???

muncielpn...you don't need the solutions manual...it is just that, solutions to the problems at the end of each chapter. the only homework we have are some of the "odds", so those answers are in the back of the chapter book anyway.

It does show you 'how' to solve them if you get stuck tho, but to save you the money...just pm me on here and I'll copy it off to you.

also, if you would like an 'over-the-phone study buddy' pm me. I have been an A student and would like to stay that way! :nuke:

:nuke:We all can work together if we need too. My cell phone is thru verizon email me and I will give you my number. I have the solution book too and it isn't worth buying. Call or email me and I can give you the info out of the solution book.

Jill,

We're in the same class.

I heard via the grape vine, if you got your pin, your ok.

This teacher posts a lot of notes for you to print out/copy.

I herad its an easy course...........just a fast one.

I did the practice quiz and breezed through it.

Just waiting for him to put up the "section" code we need for the late nite lab area.

We can help each othe with this.....maybe we can all get each others emails and go from there????

Brenda :)

do we all have wolfe?

all of our names are on the board, so I'm thinkin we do!!! I've been makin math charts, let me know if ya'll want them!!!:p

My book has the huge white flower on it as well. I had emailed the instructor a few weeks ago and he said that is the book, 8th Edition.

I am wondering if we take all the quizzes on line and then only do the final at the school?

I am hoping that we can take notes AND a calculator into any tests with us or I'm eurcheredI have done both practice quizzes and its not too bad as long as a calc is available!

OMG,..............we have a credit quiz a week! I hope its an open book quiz!

Math charts would be absolutely awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm taking that instructor's online chem class in the fall. I go to school with a lot of people who took the same class and said it seems overwhelming at first-but then it levels out. They all liked the class and said I'd make it :) so I made sure to sign up in his class. I have never in my life taken chemistry-so I'll probably be on here asking you guys questions when it's my turn!!

Good luck this summer!! :typing

Hi guys!

No final or proctored tests at all in that class. This class requires zero campus visits! Just a final paper on a preservative, which was only 2 pages. The quizzes online are timed. I'm not sure if they started out that way, but we had some "academic dishonesty" in the beginning. I think people were on the phone with each other during the quizzes. So be careful with the phone calls! I would make sure you aren't purposely taking the quizzes at the same time. I'm betting that they will be extra watchful this time.

But I was telling someone else that if you do the practice quizzes it makes the credit quizzes easier. Usually the problems are the same with different numbers. But, don't sweat it. This class is only high school level, and is waived at some colleges if you have had high school chem.
