Ivy Tech Books 1st semester nursing
We had to get a Fundamentals book, pharmacology, dosage calc, Med surg, can't remember what else. I know it cost me a fortune though.

Ivy Tech: Dosage Calc. & Medical Terminology
I absolutely agree with this. In my experience in nursing school so far-they've not gone over the prefixes and suffixes of words or root words and if you don't know those IMO it takes a lot more time to catch on. I am so glad I took this class and I also agree that it should be required for the nursing program. I really enjoyed this class.

Did RNs Have To Practice Bathing Each Other In NS
We had to make sure to pick someone that was not our friend for all activities. They wanted us to get used to working with different people (ones we were not familiar with) and they wanted us to experience the same awkwardness a patient would feel. And guys/girls paired up too. I'm glad they made us do that b/c it was a learning experience to feel the awkwardness on both ends (as the nurse & the patient) and by the end of that semester, we had all become such good friends. It really kept us from forming cliques as well.

Lap Tops at Ivy Tech?
I also bought an ACER at WM and love it. It's super fast and works great. I'll never pay a ton for a computer again.

Used Chem book
Thanks! I feel better all ready. I was really nervous signing up for the class, but I'm thinking I'll probably survive. I hope lol.

Used Chem book
I'm taking that instructor's online chem class in the fall. I go to school with a lot of people who took the same class and said it seems overwhelming at first-but then it levels out. They all liked the class and said I'd make it :) so I made sure to sign up in his class. I have never in my life taken chemistry-so I'll probably be on here asking you guys questions when it's my turn!! Good luck this summer!! :typing

Columbus IVY TECH students
I started in August (07). We had the option of going thru the summer, so I took it! I'm not an LPN.

Columbus IVY TECH students
That's who I had. I also had her for my first semester lab, my Med Surg rotation, and OB/Peds! I'd have her for every single class if I could. You may have to wait until tomorrow to see your classes-a lot of times they won't show up until the first day of the semester. Good luck!

Did RNs Have To Practice Bathing Each Other In NS
We had to do baths (shorts/tank top) complete with washing hair, brushing teeth, etc. We also practiced vitals on each other, as well as putting someone on, taking them off of a (full) bedpan. We gave SQ injections to each other. We had to do the bed making and such as well.

Ivy Tech: Dosage Calc. & Medical Terminology
I took medical terminology as a filler class a couple years ago. I think it was helpful and I'm glad I took it. It's nothing earth-shattering, but it has definitely come in handy. As for dosage calc-if you need help with math, then it will be helpful. But if you get math-it would probably be boring.

Columbus IVY TECH students
Great job on completing your first semester! I go to Ivy Tech in Columbus-will graduate in December. Have fun in 114-I just got finished with that class last week :). You'll have to let me know who your instructor is. It was an ok class-a lot of work for only 1 credit though. Enjoy the lack of clinicals this summer while you can. I'm taking psych and complex family this summer and so wish I didn't have to. Good luck!

Which Ivy Tech is best?
I did all of my co-req's before starting the RN program and it was a life-saver!! I can't imagine what it would be like to have more classes on top of what I already have!

Which Ivy Tech is best?
I attend the Columbus campus and I'm in my first semester for the RN program. For the most part it's a great program-there just seems to be so much chaos this first semester-but we've been told that it will be better after this. All in all I really like it and the people though.

IBC - have you heard of this?
I actually have heard of this...and happen to read a blog of a lady that was just diagnosed with IBC. Cancer is such a scary disease as it is-but knowing how "sneaky" it can be sometimes is even scarier.

you might be from ohio if:
I was born and raised in the Cincinnati (east side)...but I live in Indy now. I love Indiana-but Ohio is always close in my heart. Everything on that list was so true. And Skyline rocks!
