USC university hospital NEW grad residency

U.S.A. California

Published

Hey!!! i am going to LA in a week to interview for the new grad residency program. Has anyone already interviewed, or know anything about their residency program, esp for the cardiac telemetry position? Do you know what it's like for new nurses to work there and any advice would be helpful.

The starting pay I was offered is 29/hr - Which I accepted - hopefully I will get OT - To answer about the "unoffical offer". I got a call saying I would be getting an offer letter. I rec. the offer letter and accepted it. To find out when they accept applications for the next new grad program you need to call hospital and ask for nurse recruitment. They will tell you when the new application would be posted, also ask about their "New Grad Brunch"

That's wonderful! how soon after the interview did you get a call?

Just to say good luck to you on your interview and all of you who have one on the Dec. 1st! Mine is the next Monday on the 7th of Dec. I'm getting so anxious, just feeling I'm not prepared enough which I suppose is a normal feeling.

Good luck again!!!

I didn't get called yet :(.... my application thing online still saids "In Process"

USCUH has already done their interview scheduling. Those that USCUH are interviewing were invited to the new grad brunch. Good luck with your job hunt!

So that's it then?? no more calling people :(?

i don't believe so, speaking from what we were told at the brunch. but, have you tried to call and follow up to confirm this?

Thanks for the message....I can't find a way to reply to it... lol...I tried calling all day...no one answered.... I did speak to the staff person about this...and he said they already finished reviewing them... however, they didn't email me or call me or anything saying that I didn't get an interview... the online thing also still saids ...in progres....

that's okay :) for future references: you could just send a message through a member's profile page, or use the icon under the member's user name. i understand the confusion... yeah, we as new grads don't always get a confirmation whether or not we make the cut (in general/from many other facilities), i guess with the current job market, one needs to be increasingly persistent.

yeah that's true, we'll see how it goes when the economy is better....
