thanks to those who replied ...just want to iron things out before i graduate..i am planning to take the local NLE...there won't be a problem...i think...since i did study here in the Philippines...still processing my dual citizenship...but was informed by one of my CIs that i could take it, even without it... is that true???
Hi angel_j
I was actually talking about these with one of my classmates. From what he told me is that if you are a US citizen already you don't have to take the local board there in the Philippines, you can take the NCLEX there (or here). He says that you're only required to take the board there if you're planning to come here under a work visa (or something like that). Sorry if I'm not much help, but I'm pretty sure you can just take the NCLEX! Might as well just come back here to Cali and take it! Good luck
You may sit in the NCLEX with or without a local professional license in the Philippines. NCLEX is only a requirement for those nurses who intend to work as nurses in the USA. But per state has its own requirements, it depends on what state you are trying to be registered into. Plus, there are certain states that requires foreign nurses to take the CGFNS and take a English proficiency test. Better to contact or check the BON's website before you start processing your application. Good Luck!
