Just received my admittance to University of Rhode Island's RN to BS program online. I was wondering if anyone has done this program and if they liked it or not. I need 33 credits, 18 credits are nursing courses. My start date is in March.

Hello,
I am also interested in the program and would like to get more info/feedback about the program/classes. I was just wondering if you picked your start date or the January start date has already been filled? Thanks!
Initially, I applied for Jan and was accepted but then I decided to postpone my start date until March so I can work and save up some more money. I have a friend who will be starting in January so hopefully she can give me some insight. I can't find a lot of info from past students or current students for this program.

I will also be starting in March.. they took a lot of my credits.
I actually decided to start this month instead ofarch. Right now I am taking nursing pharmacology and introduction the professional nursing. So far it's going well. Nursing pharmacology entails reading chapters, homework assignments, forum questions and quizzes. Intro the prof nursing is a lot of readings, papers and APA format. Each class has assignments due Thursdays and Sundays of each week. Each course is 7 weeks long. So far its manageable for me to take 2 classes and work 40 hours.

Hello everyone! i will be starting in the URI RN to BS soon... can anyone give any updated guidance on course load? structure etc... I will plan to only work PT but i do have small children and another on the way so i don't want to go crazy! i plan to take NUR 247 as instructed and Nutrition 207- an elective that was suggested... any comments greatly appreciated!
can you give updates on how your session has gone given you have a busy schedule outside of school also?? And tell us more about your experience in these classes? thank you! since the program is fairly new- not much opinions out there!
A lot of people had issues with Nursing pharmacology because the professor kept changing the quiz rules midway throh the semester. At the beginning we were allowed to do the quiz as many times as we wanted until the due date and the highest score was recorded. Then he changed it to only two attempts. Then it was two attempts and only 1 hour. Oh and you needed to get a 75% to move on to the next week. If not, you had to email the coach of the class to get an additional assignment to move on. The class was mainly an assignment or forum question due Thursday and a summary quiz due Sunday and a final exam.
Nur 247 was harder for me only because I am terrible at writing. But it was mainly writing papers and using APA format. We had to do a PowerPoint with notes and voiceover. And a 5 to 8 page paper. 4 forum questions and 2 2 to 3 page papers. And a final exam.
Overall, it wasn't terrible. I am in my last week.I was surprised I adjusted well to an online school format. The professors were very helpful in helping you navigate the site and even the peers in the class.
It seems like every class, the assignments are due Thursdays and Sundays. I will be taking nursing research in march and maybe an elective
Ok I'll be taking NUR 247 and nutrition elective (can't take the pharm until I complete my statistics)
so I have 2 children, starting a new RN job and expecting my 3rd in June... I just don't wanna be too overwhlemed considering I have NO clue how to even navigate their system! Any tips are so appreciated ! Thank you! Is Sakai where all class info will be? Never used it before and I don't see my classes yetí ½í¸‘
Yes Sakai. And before classes begin they will post up a tutorial on how to use Sakai. That's very helpful. But nur 247 will also give you a tutorial and each assignment helps you navigate Sakai and they go over it with you.
Ok so how many hours a week should I plan to dedicate to the NUR 247?? Would you recommend....
Are assignments or readings time consuming and/or difficult to keep up with - and how did you like the book that is required... Sorry I just am so curious!
