Published

Hi,

Im New Here . I Have A BS DEGREE In Biology From Chicago. Its Nov 6 , 2006 Today . It Took Me Long Time To Decide For My Future. Are There Any Accelerated Bsn ( Absn ) Programs That Will Accept Me For Spring 2007. Im Very Desperate Thinking That Im Late. ( I Will Go To Any Such Program Even If I Have To Leave Illinois).

Please Help Me Cause Its Already Late . Please.

Thanks

You would have more luck calling around to your local colleges/universities to see what programs they have available and if there are any waitlists.

It is doubtful you would be able to start a program in the spring with it already being November, as most programs have many requirements for admission including prereq classes, testing, etc. And of course, waitlists.

But call around and see what you can find.

I want everyone to please share their opinions if there are any accelerated BSN i.e ABSN programs that have a late deadline for spring 2007 ( later than november 2006) cause its already november of 2006?

Based on your other post, I would STRONGLY suggest that you spend a little time researching nursing before you get into a program. It seems to me that you don't really know what you're getting into.

Specializes in ICU, PICC Nurse, Nursing Supervisor.

I was thinking the same thing.....

I highly agree with the others. Although you have a degree in Biology, you may need more prereqs to get into nursing. From your post it sounds like you feel rushed to get into a program NOW. I would suggest that you study nursing a little bit more. It's a very tough field. I would examine your motives for wanting to go into nursing, take time to discover for yourself the pros and cons of nursing. If you do this, you'll be more likely not to be disappointed in a well thought out plan, rather than a hurried decision. Besides, it's really never too late to do anything in life. Especially nursing. I wish you the very best of luck in deciding what you want to do.

Thanks for ur best wish for me. I wish the same for u . Thanks

By the way, when I mentioned in my post that it's never too late to get into anything, I really did mean it. No, I really wasn't being glib. There are people who have gone into nursing when they are in their 50's, and maybe some, age 60. Like I've said before, think this out. An accelerated BSN is challenging to say the least, and it'd be a shame to expend so much blood, sweat, and tears just to discover this is not something that you really want to do, or that you'd thought nursing would be totally different from the reality. It's not like on TV programs, not even close. I'm just encouraging you to take some time and think. You may end up saving yourself a lot of heartache, not to mention, money, in the end. Again, best wishes to you. :)
