Hi guys,

Congratulations to all those who got accepted! I have a question. What is the difference between academic interests and research interests? I would like to take msn in pediatric and minor in nursing administration. Please any input would be helpful

Hi! I was going to respond to the PM but apparently I'm not allowed to yet :) so I feel like academic interest deal with a specialization/specialty or whatever that you want to be an expert at. Some aspect of nursing that you want to know everything about. Whereas a research interest would deal with your interests going beyond well known EBP and research and asking a question about nursing and finding out a new answer. You want to find out more information than we have available to our practice now. Hopefully that helps. I don't know if that's what they're looking for, but that's how I interpreted it

I know this thread is old, but I am applying for Summer 2015 Peds Acute Care. Did any of you guys submit your GRE or go for the waiver? If you asked for the waiver, did you have to do anything specific? How long did it take for them to review your application and approve the waiver? I turned in my application at the beginning of December and am anxiously waiting for an interview. Thanks for youe help :-)

I did the waiver and I didn't do anything but stated it on my application. And I never received information about it being approved. 3 months after applying I received an email for an interview and about 3 weeks after that I was notified I was accepted. I am 2 yr part-time so I don't know if that makes a difference when it comes to timing for the application process.

Ok thanks! 3 months? I might not make it! If you don't mind me asking, what was your GPA? I am just slightly stressed out because my application online has been submitted but still reads

"Materials Needed" but all of my transcripts, letters of rec., ect have been submitted. I emailed them to find out if I needed to do something but haven't heard anything back. Thanks so much for your help!
