  1. Hi! I was going to respond to the PM but apparently I'm not allowed to yet :) so I feel like academic interest deal with a specialization/specialty or whatever that you want to be an expert at. Some aspect of nursing that you want to know everything about. Whereas a research interest would deal with your interests going beyond well known EBP and research and asking a question about nursing and finding out a new answer. You want to find out more information than we have available to our practice now. Hopefully that helps. I don't know if that's what they're looking for, but that's how I interpreted it
  2. I'm in the full time program. 13 months of craziness
  3. Woohoo!! Exciting/stressful= my life right now. Moving in 5 weeks and starting in 6. So much paperwork to get done. Not to mention financial aid
  4. I'm in! Who else starts July 1st?!
  5. I got my references from my assistant manager, our unit's CNS and the nurse educator of my new grad program. I haven't been in school in years so I had to scramble to get an educator to do my recommendation. I feel like managers are good sources for recommendations.
  6. Anyone hear anything else yet? Emails? Phone calls? Acceptance letters vs wait list? I'm dyin here!!
  7. Lol I've been obsessively reading the BSN/MSN UPENN thread and that's what they talk about. I dunno. Lol. I feel like it releases my anxiety to just vent here. I got my BSN at Dominican university and have been a NICU nurse for 7 years. I applied to the neonatal CNS program at upenn and PLNU in San Diego. Sadly, There aren't really any neonatal cns programs on the west coast...
  8. I have a mini break down every time I check my email in the morning. I feel like if you transcripts didn't get added then it shouldn't be your fault that it didn't get added. If you sent them then it's the admission office that had to add your transcripts. I'm trying to not freak out. Thank goodness for this forum or I would die. Anyone care to share stats? Or what other programs they applied for?
  9. Had my interview last week. I think it went ok. She was super nice and we talked for about 45 min and it was simple enough. I def fumbled a few questions. I'm starting to get my paperwork ready for a license in PA. just for positive thinking!! Who knows what will happen. She also said the admissions committee doesn't meet again until the middle of May. So we'll know by the end of May. Ugh. It can't come soon enough. Good Luck!!
  10. Hi tahara! It's like I'm obsessed with checking my email...every morning I feel like freaking out over what new emails I have. After 3 weeks I finally got an email to interview for the program. But they only offered a phone interview not an in person one...I feel like that's a bad sign. That they don't even want to invite me to go visit the school that I might not get into *sad face* I wish more people in our position would post so we have some insight as to the admission process. Good luck to you!! You'll hear from them soon!!
  11. Hi Seema1! I applied to UPenn for Fall 2014 for their MSN program. I literally sent my application 2 days before the deadline. I'm so impatient!!! its only been a few days since the due date so I havent gotten anything since the confirmation of application e-mail. I saw on the website that the orientation date has already been made and posted...it makes me so nervous...like people already know and are planning their orientation. there arent a lot of stats about their regular MSN program admissions...mostly bsn/msn info...i may go insane before we find out anything. one other member posted that they already got in...no interview needed...*sigh* well its just a waiting game now
