UPenn Direct Entry BSN/MSN 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everybody,

I couldn't find a thread for UPenn but is anybody else applying?

I can see that. For peds acute care, we have to take at least a year off to work in between the BSN and MSN. I was thinking of going back to CA for a little while, which is certainly appealing to me. I'm not sure if they require/encourage time off of peds primary care too.

That would be a great option too. I am hoping to "Fast-Track" through the Peds primary care program because I am not required to work for that program. Does anyone else on this thread know more about the Fast-Track program?

jessiepaige - I see your message but cannot respond because i recently joined allnurses. Try to find me on facebook? Brooke Slater from USC

Just letting you all know I'm declining my spot for AC-AGNP so congrats to someone on the waitlist!

Hi everyone!

My name's Michelle and I am in the 2014 cohort. I will be one of the peer advisor co-chairs for your guys' cohort. For those of you asking about the Facebook group, I believe that will be started shortly - I will certainly let you guys know as soon as it goes up. Please let me know if you have any questions that I can answer in the mean time, especially for those of you who have the wonderful opportunity to choose between different schools! Congratulations to those of you who got in, and good luck to those on the waitlist! :)

Hi everyone! I stayed away from all these forums during my application process in order to not stress myself out! I'm admitted into the FNP track and may have met several of you during the in-person interview on Dec. 8th. I'm also overwhelmed by the idea of moving across the country in only a few months-- Any one else coming from Washington State???? Epic road-trip companions??? Look forward to getting to know everyone more during the next few months!!!! Cheers!

Has anyone heard about financial aid yet? That is going to be an important factor in making my final decision :)

Hi folks! I'm wondering if anyone else on the waitlist knows about what our odds are for receiving an offer of admission. I've tried getting in touch with admissions a few times and can't seem to get ahold of anyone. I applied for the midwifery/WHNP track, and know that this tends to be one of the more competitive tracks at most programs. If anyone has any information, I'd greatly appreciate it. Again, congrats to everyone offered admission!

Hi everyone,

Here's the link to the Facebook group for your cohort: https://www.facebook.com/groups/PennNursingABSN.MSN2015/

It can also be found by searching "Penn ABSN/MSN 2015 Cohort" on Facebook. Please feel free to join and ask questions!

@Bumblepea, I was wondering the same thing. I'm on waitlist for the FNP specialty. I think the deadline to be on the waitlist is February 29th so hopefully they can give us some info after that date like what number we're on the waitlist or something!

Hi all,

I'm on the waitlist for FNP, has anyone rejected their admission? Just trying to gage if I'll get in!

Hi Cyaos,

I'm not sure if this thread has been abandoned but I am interested in applying for Summer 2016 and was hoping to take some of my prerequisites at CCP. I read that you completed some of your prerequisites there and was wondering how you managed that. I spoke with someone from their admissions department that said non-matriculating students can only take one class per semester. I have seen the same thing at lots of nearby community colleges and I am really struggling at finding a place to take my prerequisites. Did you run into this problem at all? Is there a way to get around this technicality? Any help you could give would be great!
