UPENN BSN MSN 2020

Updated:   Published

With the application deadline in ~30 days I figured, why not make a thread for applicants? I could've sworn I started a thread for this last week but can no longer find it. I'm applying for the PMHNP speciality and although UPenn is a relatively new addition, I have fallen in love with their program. Looking forward to replies from everyone.

@klnurse congrats! When did you hear? Did you apply BSN/msn or only MSN?

Ok update: Filomena says the decisions that went out are for the accelerated second degree nursing program. The MSN decisions for RNs will be coming out later this month, for those who applied to direct entry MSN and haven’t received decisions.

Huge congrats to all those who have been accepted!! Does anyone know if waitlisted BSN/MSN applicants could be considered for ABSN only?

Accepted to ABSN/MSN in neonatal!!!!!!

I got accepted for the PNP Program! Hopefully I get some financial aid, because this program seems expensive ?

Was anyone else here waitlisted? Do we know if the waitlist is ranked or not? Thanks in advance!

Thank you! I appreciate it. I spoke with financial aid and have a better idea of cost now. Waiting to hear back about Scholarships/aid next week.

What did financial aid say? I still felt overwhelmed by cost after speaking to them.

Hi there! I was also waitlisted! I’m taking it as a good thing because I’m also waiting to hear back from another entry level MSN program in state. I would imagine the waitlist is ranked!

Hello! Thank you for sharing! Hopefully, it is... I reached out and asked so if it is I will report back.

I called the financial aid office this morning and they said we will get an email from them Monday/Tuesday of next week.

Definitely a very expensive program. I am putting off being overwhelmed until I receive a financial aid package. They said ~140k for the ABSN and ~75k for the MSN. Those are very ROUGH estimates that are affected by variability. We will receive financial aid packages for the ABSN program next week.

How are we considered for scholarships? I don’t remember there being an application for that.
