2018 UPenn BSN/MSN

Published

Greetings fellow 2018 UPenn BSN/MSN applicants! Just thought I could start a thread for the incoming applicants so we can help each other out through the application process.

Does anyone know if we need to submit separate transcripts for study abroad programs if it's already clearly stated on our official undergraduate transcript? Thanks! : )

Peeps who are going to the in-person interview -- where are y'all staying? I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!

I found a cheap Airbnb nearby :)

Thank you, BeatriceP! I was about to think that the interview email was just a dream as I haven't heard back after I signed up.

No worries, I guess we just have to be patient and prep well for the interview while waiting for the date :)

Specializes in Midwife, OBGYN.

The phone interviews are happening between Dec 1st and Jan 15th according to the website so I think we might have to wait a week or two for them to compile all the people that would like phone interviews. They then have to speak to the faculty to coordinate a time where the interview will not conflict with their professorial duties. I think we will hear back by within the next 2 weeks. As long as the website has said they have recorded your election, you should be fine.

Yup, I think so too. Thanks TangoDeux:)

Hi Everyone! I got an interview for PMHNP as well, and I'm going to have to do it by phone. Congrats to everyone!

Does anyone know the percentage of applicants that get an interview and then the percentage of those applicants who get admitted? I've tried scouring past years threads trying to find any info I can, and I haven't gotten much. Any guesses are also welcomed :)

Penn is my no1 choice. That phone interview is going to be a hell of an anxiety trip for me!! :sarcastic:

Hey, all!! For those of you who are interviewing on Dec. 11, would any of you be interested in going to dinner afterwards? I don't know if that's weird or not, I just thought maybe it would be fun to get to know some potential classmates :)

Can anyone enlighten me what's the difference (in terms of practicing areas and expertise) between family nurse practitioner program verses adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner program?

FNP entails possibly working with children as it covers the lifespan (infancy to old age). AGPCNPs work with individuals from adolescence old age (starting at ~13 y/o).

Can a student from AGPCNP take up other minors such as global health? Because I know that FNP gets to take up other minors.

I don't see why we wouldn't be able to! I'm probably not the best one to answer this though because I haven't really looked into minors I might want to pursue outside of Women's Health.
