I just want to make sure that we don't forget those that are either wait-listed or still waiting on a reply... :)
I got into Depaul too. My top choice is UIC and the wait is killing me. We had 17 people interview for pediatrics and last year they took four. I am holding out on the almost 25% chance I have of getting accepted.
I'm going for Acute Care NP. I assume you had the same interview style that I did. Which was group interviews.
I sat in that room with 3 other candidates, answering the questions and listening to them answer those same questions. Based on that interview (which was really a re-hash of the personal statement), I cannot tell you who I would let in or not let in. All the other candidates seemed well-grounded, had good, solid, well-thought out answers, had good motivation, and seemed fully capable of doing well in school.
How this is supposed to help narrow down who gets in, I have no idea. Based on the 4 of us in that room, I couldn't pick just one.
Yeah, the waiting stinks. But at least we DO have a backup (but at those prices, I may not go after all. LOL!)
Ok, i haven't even got to apply yet, but I've never heard of the interviews to get in the program...Dee, maybe you know...I thought that like @ CCSN it's the waiting list and at the others like NSC and USN and those that it was just doing the prereq's. Is there something I need to prepare for? Yikes! Like on poster said that they had a interview in a certain field of Nursing, I haven't seen or heard anything about that. Thought that wasn't something we had to worry about til after we got out? Wow, got a lot to look into. *sigh*

We actually had individual interviews. The day started off with an overview of the GEP and PNP programs and then we broke off into individual programs. I definitely wouldn't want to be one of the people deciding who would be accepted. Best of luck on getting in! Only about a month and four days until we should know!
I need my letter good or bad......cause the waiting is killing me... I'm starting to have bad thoughts when the mailman passes by now..Not good...
