Hello! Just wondering if anyone has applied to the University of South Carolina's CRNA program for Spring 2021? It's the last program in my immediate area that still offers a master's so I'm super anxious about getting in.
I attempted to make a FB page for the class of 2023 MSN program. ?https://www.facebook.com/groups/652978955287487/
I got waitlisted. Even though I'm upset I did not get in - I do realize that eventually the DNP will be the standard among anesthetists in 5, 10 years from now. Patients, hospitals, MDAs, and fellow CRNAs will expect this kind of standard unfortunately. I know CRNAs who just have a masters that are extremely skilled, but with COA requiring the DNP - eventually we will all need one.
The waitlist is generally around 6-8 applicants. On average, 4 students are pulled from the waitlist. If you were waitlisted, I highly encourage you set up a web meeting with Kevin LeBlanc to communicate your commitment and ask how/where you could improve for the next interview. He has tremendous autonomy and is extremely approachable, so going that extra mile counts ... a lot. As I said earlier in the thread, I and at least 3-4 other classmates were initially waitlisted. Don’t buy a car or make any big commitments because you may still start school in January!
Anyone that shifted their eyes to being in the first doctorate cohort, they are having an informative meeting on the 20th at 3pm EST.

I’m at the Columbia campus. Please let me know if y’all create a group on facebook. Congratulations again to everyone accepted! ? if you don’t get in this time, you will definitely have a greater chance for the first DNAP cohort.
