Unprofessional Administration!

Specialties Geriatric

10 months ago I was unexpectedly terminated from an A.L.F. by their brand new V.P. of management:down:. One week ago I get a phone call from their Administrator asking me if I had "reported" her to the county for wrongfully obtaining public assistance (regarding M.A. for her husband). I told her no I did not, & why would I?!? Well, she said someone did report her to the county & the V.P. who fired me "put it out there" that I was probably the one who reported her. Now this Administrator has to go to court, etc etc etc. My first instinct was to call the owner of this chain of A.L.F. & raise heck but then I thought, no, I'm not going to stir anything up. What a bunch of crap this is, total unprofessionalism on the part both of these women; the Administrator had alot of nerve to call me & if the V.P. really did say I was probably the one who reported her then that is a bunch of B.S. too! I just had to post this, shows there are some crazy management folks out there huh!?!:uhoh3: And by the way, I'm working in a Home Care agency now & I absolutely love it!

Thanks,

Talk to a lawyer. At the very least she is slandering you.

Best wishes!

I would also document the date & time of the phone call and contact a attorney!

Specializes in Home health was tops, 2nd was L&D.

I am happy you love your new job.. People either love or hate Home health. Yes keep a record and contacting an attorney is your right. They will not do anything or will want $$ to do it...I would contact labor board about being wrongly terminated first. I know you do not want to make a fuss or stir up things but years from now you lack of defending yourself could come back to haunt you..Plus if she did this to you.. she will do this again. Not that you'd ever want to go back but would be nice to have a record of what happened to you.. Good luck with new job.

Since you have been freed from "prison", I would forget about it and go on with your business. Let the administrator deal with their issue. It has nothing to do with you. As for the alleged comment by the VP, it is hearsay. Do yourself a favor and let it go. They will continue to have their clutches in you if you let them. Enjoy your new position and be free! Peace!

I have decided to take Chinup's advice, I will just forget it & be thankful I'm no longer working in that place!! Thank you for your replies!
