I am applying for the summer 2015 nursing program and I wanted to create a thread so anyone else that is stressing can vent here :)
I believe they only take off points from your application for retaking the science classes that they score (nurs 299, Chem, A&p, etc). Also, remember that there are also other nursing schools you can apply to. Nevada state college or Touro both train nurses. If I were you I would be applying to more than 1.
Cmunro208 its awesome you're considering on becoming a nurse! i received a C in my math 120 too lol at the time i didn't know the requirements for UNLV but thats the only point i got docked off for a retake. BUT if you retake a science class with a previous grade of a B and you're trying to get an A then you won't have any points removed. hope that kinda helped? but if its going to be your first time taking the classes, strive for the A because in the beginning i always labeled myself as the "B" student and it ended up biting me in the butt for not trying harder lol

As you can see on the worksheet, some courses will count against you if you retake. However, if you improve your grade, you may actually increase your overall points. The other non science and math courses (that are required but do not count toward point calculation) will not count against you if you retake to increase your GPA. Rose has retaken a few classes and would be a great person to talk to as she in now in the program!
