Anyone applying for UNLV summer of 2020? How competitive will it be?

Hey there!

I'm applying for summer with around 94.45 points. Everyone I've asked said that should be fine, and what I have read on posts from applications for Spring 2020 is that I saw someone get in with a 93ish score, but someone who had a 90 who didn't get in.

That's about the most I've seen, and I was going to be stopping by advising next week to ask if they had any insight. Good luck!!

I'm getting a little bit nervous because I don't know if I have enough points to make the cut; however, I have talked with previous nursing students and they said it should be less competitive but not sure how true is that. Also during the time of their admission they only had 56 students now its up to 72. Just crossing my fingers that hopefully we all make it! Hahah

Well I've heard that summer is less competitive because a lot of people don't have the financial aid to cover the costs (FAFSA and most scholarships don't pay for summer admission), however I haven't exactly heard something officially.

However if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. Most (traditional) students start school in fall semesters typically, and won't be done with their prerequisites by the summer deadline. Admissions being raised to 72 is also a big help (because it used to be around 48?) Myself and one other pre-nursing major I know are ready for this upcoming application cycle, and I haven't met many others.

That is true! I got 91.5 on my Hesi totaling my overall points a 91.9, but since it’s quite on the lower end, I’m nervous that I’ll barely make it. There’s some other semester that had people in the the lower 90s making it but it was quite rare. I’m thinking of retaking my Hesi, funny bc it’s the grammar that killed me. Apparently I don’t speak English as well as I thought I did?

I'm applying for Summer 2020 too! I'm going in with a 93.3 ? I've read other forums, and some people have gotten in with a 92. I'm really nervous, I don't feel too confident with my score. Hopefully I get it!

I think we'll be fine *fingers crossed* It's just best to have a plan B though. I was looking into NSC and other institutions. But let's just claim it. We are going to get in and I just know it!

I hope so! NCS's deadline is tomorrow, and I haven't applied. I kind of shot myself in the foot by not having a back up at the moment. When's your signing date?

Feb 6th! They say they're going to send out emails before March 13th for acceptances/denials. I'll keep this updated!

Thank you! I think there's literally 2 people that signed up for the 27th because it's the last day haha.

Oh really? My signing date is actually full. They're letting 72 people in now. Hopefully that'll widen our chances. Good luck!
