Hello! I didn't see one of these for the coming year. I figured I would start one to get a conversation going about it!
I applied for the UW Madison Nurse Residency Program for the January 2015 start. I'll be a December 2014 graduate with a BSN. Is anyone else applying for this Nurse Residency program or have applied/went through the program in the past? I'm very interested in what you have to say about the interviewing process and the program itself.
I just had the phone interview and turned in my references. Hope to get a face-to-face interview soon. They said those that will be getting a job offer will be notified hopefully by Thanksgiving holiday. Fingers crossed!
Hey guys! I also just got an email yesterday about getting an in person interview. Woohoo! I still am waiting for the unit though, crossing my fingers its in pediatrics! Anyone else get Peds? Also, no idea what this means for us, or how likely we are to get the position, or how many people are interviewing for the same unit? Ahhh! Well regardless, congrats guys! Cant wait to hopefully meet you all!
Livelovelearn14, I think the interviewing process varies. Based on past forum threads it seems like it depends on the unit, the amount being interviewed, and the available positions.
Emlars, I know of 4 other people in my graduating class that were extended interviews. All for different units which is nice! They are for OR, progressive care, ER, PICU, and I am for NICU. You'll have to keep us posted on the unit you are interviewing for!
Hey guys! I just got the e-mail saying that I am interviewing for their Transplant Unit! Ironically enough, my mom donated her kidney to my uncle on that unit, and thats where I first discovered I wanted to become a Nurse. Crazy how things work out like that! My interview is 11/10 at 11:00!
Has anyone received more information on the interview event (parking ticket itself, information on benefits and expectations of the residency program)? They made it sound like it would be coming in the mail, but I haven't gotten anything either in the mail or email. Tomorrow is the last day to get something by mail. Hopefully we get something about it soon!

I got my top choice too!
Do you all know if we will just be interviewing with that one person or will there be others present?
