University of West Florida (UWF) FNP - Spring 2026

Published

I was hoping to connect with other folks who have applied for or intend to apply for the Spring 2026 FNP cohort at UWF.

I applied for early admission, the advisor said about two weeks for decisions to go out.

Anyone else?

Thank you! UA was my first choice....partly because they are very reputable. Also, I like the fact that you go to campus a couple times to do skill lab, etc..

With West Florida, you never go to campus. But I live in Florida. And I know a couple people that have gone there and said it was a good program....

I'm leaning more towards UA but we will see. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Thank you for the information!

good luck with everything ! It's very exciting, even though it worries me sometimes if I will be able to work full time while going through the program . Because I can't imagine paying for school and not working at the same time . But we will see . I wish I've made decision to apply a few years ago, before life got so expensive everywhere.

I agree! I work full-time and have 3 kids! I don't know what I was thinking, but if I don't do it now, I never will. You got this!! We all do. We wouldn't apply if we didn't think we could do it! Nurses are resilient!

That makes me feel better ! That I'm not the only one trying to juggle kids , work and bills!

I hope we all get into NP school and do well! You are right , if we don't do it now we might never will!

I spent many years working in different nursing areas trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up as a nurse! Haha

I think I'm at a point in my life when I finally feel qualified enough to shoot for being a prescribing provider .

ill let you know if I hear back from UWF!

thank you !

I am so happy to have found this thread. Trying to get into UWFs MSN program has been INSANE!! I have been a critical care nurse for 17 years, never been fired or had any misconduct on licenses... BSN GPA of 3.9. AND I was a prior student at UWF back in 2004. I did not get accepted into early admissions and this school has me in a chokehold. I am like one of you said - about ready to say "dang, yall arent for me, either!"

Anyone hear yet?

I got a call from West Florida advisor today, the one I've been in touch with since I applied, and he said he's sending my file for a review today. So I assume we will be hearing in the next week or two whether we got accepted or not.

have you heard anything yet ?

If I'm not accepted for Spring I will apply again for the Summer . My GPA is good and I have a few years of hospital and clinic experience so If I'm not good enough for them this semester , I will try again for the next one . It will happen eventually

gotta stay optimistic these days so I don't go crazy LOL

Heard nothing yet and haven't had a check in call in weeks. I have grades 3.9 msn and 15 years ER nursing, so just wondering. Did u apply anywhere else ?

I have 10 years total of hospital , rehab, outpatient and home health experience . Did a bit of everything before I decided what I really want to do when I grow up as a nurse 😄 haven't applied anywhere else . But if I'm not accepted into this program I'll be thinking about applying to University of Alabama next time as well.

Hi! I got an email that I did not get in with the first round for Spring. Also that they would let me know about the second round of applications around Nov.

The advisor called last week (not sure why as they never have any new info).
I have 16 years of experience, GPA was not the greatest but at an acceptable level as it was 16 years ago haha I was 21.
Alas, I was accepted to University of Alabama in the Spring. I would recommend them as they were very coordinated with their admission process. You do a virtual interview and the application.
Best of luck to you!!
