I am planning to apply to the DNP program at University of Washington for Fall 2017.
Now, I'm trying start my application.
Do you guys have any tips?
Thank you!
Got my MN there a hundred or so years ago. It was a fabulous program then, excellent faculty, connections for research all over one of the best research medical centers in the country (thanks for a number of years with the two ranking Senators both being from WA, Warren Magnuson and Scoop Jackson), awesome affiliated hospitals and clinics. You'll love it. You can find my thesis in the library. :)
Ahhhh hopefully not April! :) Another burning question I have for you guys: how many of you work full-time or are planning to work should we be so lucky to get into the program? I currently work full-time and hope there's a way to hang onto my job for as long as I can… Anyone else in the same situation? I've heard that classes the first year are typically just one day a week but this was from someone who was in the program several years ago...
According to the applicants from previous years who posted on allnurses, they've heard back between mid-March to the end of March... I believe they say April as an extra cushion. We've got about a month to go! We can do it!! :)
I'm working full time right now... I think I'll try to hang on to full time for the first year and then cut back to part time.
Can't wait... I'm going crazy... I can't wait anymore. HAHAHAHA!
I work full time as well. I think when I attended the information session they said that for the first year the class is only once a week every Thursday. Half in class and half online. But during second and third year I think it's twice a week. That's the time I would prefer to work less.
Wishing the best of luck to everyone.
After reading several allnurses forums from previous UW applicants, they received their letters via snail mail first before their status changed on the UW website... As far as where it will update, I believe it should show the status on the UW graduate school site where we submitted our applications... My status says "Submitted".

I applied for the FNP track. I heard it is very hard to get in to that track but I'm still hoping and optimistic.
