Hi! I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I actually am in the area where this school is located! I am starting KC in the fall for my LVN. Do you know how many students they accept? From what I have seen, you almost have to have close to a 4.0 to jump ahead on the list. I will do some research for you though. Are you doing a straight to BSN track, or have you do LVN, RN?

Staff names were changed to asterisks because it is against the Allnurses Terms of Service to mention names on the public board. You may share that info with a private message, which activates after you have 15 posts.

The Terms of Service states:

No potentially libelous information about specific schools, instructors, or health care facilities/entities should be posted in these forums. While it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

  1. It is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. Your privacy is paramount to us.
  2. While allnurses.com is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. Gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
  3. Please do not give out personal information about others. Do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.

Congratulations! I am about to go into level 3 at UTT on the Tyler campus. I was accepted in fall '08 with 76 point something points. I did not have an associates. The minimum amount of points for acceptance obviously changes each semester, but in my opinion I think you will be fine! You have a good GPA! I did not take TEAS.. I took the NET test and scored a little above average. I think they accept around 80 or 90 students for the Tyler campus, once you are accepted you might wonder how some of the people managed to get accepted! haha :nuke: good luck!

I forgot to add, I don't know if you've already asked, but it would help to ask the advisor for pre-nursing students what the minimum amount of points for acceptance was last semester. It's usually (not always) a good indicator of your 1st semester. Before my class, the amount of points went up about half a point to 2 points each semester. It isn't a definite answer, but might give you some peace of mind!

Thank you very much for the encouragement!!! I did ask her and she said it was 75 points...I was actually looking somewhere around here too and I found out about this person who got in for fall 2009 with 73 points....Again thank you, and good luck finishing your senior year in nursing school...Wish you the best!!

I am also applying to UT Tyler, but I am going for the BSN program for 2nd degree majors. I should have around 82 points. I hope i will get in because i am really looking forward to it.
