I am planning to apply to the 2014 AE MSN program, at UT Austin, in August. I noticed that this site has A LOT of helpful feedback. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best preparations when applying to these competitive programs? My GPA is a 3.6, I have a BS in Health Science, I have worked in health care administration for 14 years and I am ready for a change. I just want to feel confident about my application and would appreciate any advice.
I've been staying away from this feed. afraid that i'll read that others have gotten in. (i'd be really happy for you, but i'm waiting on pins and needles) my interview sucked. i had a final that day and i stayed up most of the night studying and then drank 2 vente lattes before. i had a panic attack and felt like i bumbled the questions. they asked me some questions that threw me off and they seemed confused about what is actually on the UT SON site in terms of specialization areas. anyway. the graduate advisor told me that one bad element of the process ( my interview ) won't eliminate me from the running. it's so hard to work for 2 years taking prereqs and feel that it didn't go well. i'm applying to the child health focus with a specialization in public health. so hoping i get in, but feel like so bad about the interview. good luck to you all, i know how hard this is.
Jinglebob, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I too have been very nervous about this whole process. Try and hang in there. Regardless of the results, we have to dust ourselves off and try again. Good luck.
Got my acceptance email into the psych/mental health NP track today!! Best of luck to all those still waiting and congrats to those who've been admitted! Excited to meet everyone! Not so excited about the hell we're about to endure in this first year...haha
Congrats to you Longhorn 2009. Did you get the email later in the day or morning? I know that sounds really pathetic, but im so anxious I can't stand it.
