University of Southern Nevada and/or Touro University

Published

I posted a thread on the Nevada Regional portion of this website and did not receive a response. I was wondering if anyone had any information on the University of Southern Nevada and/or Touro University. Both of these schools have new nursing programs that are unaccredited and I was wondering if there was anyone out there who had any information or experience with either of these two schools, or knows of someone I may be able to contact who does.

Contact the schools directly. But make sure to check them out with the Board of Nursing to see if you go to school there, will it permit you to be licensed there. It would be a shame to go thru a program, and then find that you cannot to anything with the training.

I have no experience with either of these programs, but a search indicates that both of them are in the process of obtaining regional accreditation. Have you contacted the schools directly to have your questions answered?

from the nevada state board of nursing site, they are listed as approved nursing programs, but with "provisional approval only":

provisional approval only

i'd call the nv state board of nursing just to get an idea of what "provisional approval" is and what happens if the programs don't get official approval.
