Hi, I applied to USN last year (2009) and was accepted. I hear that as long as you have a gpa of 3.0 or above, you are likely to get in. I also have 3 other friends who applied and got in as well. The only thing about USN is that you have to get a 90% or above on all the exams to stay in the program, but I hear that it is definitely doable.
Just out of curiosity, did you apply to any other nursing schools? Anyway, whatever you decide on, good luck and I wish you the best!
I think with the cost of USN the applicant pool is substantially smaller than for CSN and NSC. I have a 3.73 and got a 94 on my TEAS and was pretty much told as long as I get my app in early in the rolling admissions cycle for the ABSN I was rather likely to get in.
I don't think I am going to be able to do it though with their random clinical schedule. That may be off-putting to other people as well, further reducing the applicant pool.
I really like the block system though. If I did not have kids I'd be considering it for sure. My husband is active duty military and getting a nanny to cover the random hours when he is away and regular daycare and afterschool care is closed would just bankrupt us. I just got a mailer from them about the open house and it was pretty tempting (the ABSN is 14 mos).
Hey! I applied for admission for january 2011. Has anyone heard back for an interview?? I am anxious. I think my stats are acceptable. JustDandy, I am ready to form a study group! Search craigslist for apts. That's what I have been doing. Livng in henderson is def a better bet than living in vegas close to clinicals. A 15 min drive isnt too bad.
I applied at USN today for their traditional BSN program beginning January 2011. The woman I met with said she would be contacting people via email to schedule interviews this week and next week. She also said that there are about 50-60 applicants for the January 2011 class, and only 25 spots open. Good luck everyone!

Hi,
I'm new here and was reading up on USN, just out of curiosity, has anyone ever been denied of acceptance to USN? Do they usually accept all students? Any info is greatly appreciated.
