Anyone have any insight on this program? I'm in the process of applying and would love to know about the school!

Oops, missed a word in there that might make a difference...

I should have said, "Otherwise, you probably will print more than usual..." As in, if you don't print your notes, you will print a little more than usual...if you do print your notes, well let's just say you might want to invest in a paper company now! ;)

LOL! I gotcha. Except for shoes, purses, travels and food, I'm fairly close to the living poster child for "frugality". :D (I tend to always look for a good deal). If I attend the program at USF, I plan on taking FULL advantage of the printing services at the Marshall Center. Maybe I'll have to get a bit creative....try different size fonts, etc.... ;)

Specializes in Mother Baby & pre-hospital EMS.

My favorite course was definitely OB, followed by psych - two of my favorite topics in general. Psych was also my first major. :) I only wish that we had more clinical time in OB and peds, and that our preceptorship site did not depend on our Med-Surg HESI score. But it was still a good experience anyway.

What my clinical team sometimes did on the last day of the semester was that we went out to eat at a local restaurant. It was a great way to celebrate the end of the semester and just hang out in a non-academic environment. Of course, most of what we talked about was......school, haha.

I highly recommend the Littmann Classic II SE stethoscope. I also recommend getting a voice recorder for lectures. However, please check with each instructor and read the syllabus because some instructors may not allow you to use them.

In general, I was on campus for classes about 2-3 times a week. In the final semester, I was on campus about once a week. But you also have to factor in clinical time in addition to being on campus for classes & lab.

I believe during our cohort they required that we purchase a PDA. I don't know if you can get away without having one, might have to check with the faculty member who is in charge of that. Having a PDA was very helpful during clinicals.

I printed some things from the Marshall Center on campus. You do get a limited # of pages per day. What I did sometimes was put 3 or 6 slides per page (3 if the instructor said a lot of extra info that was not on the slide). Many times I would print from home from my laser printer, though.

Hello! I was hoping to apply for USF's accelerated program for summer, but I recently found out that you need to have your first bachelor's degree finished before the application deadline. I won't be finished until May! I am applying to other programs for the summer/fall, but if they don't work out I will apply for the fall.

No, they do not. USF is the only program that I am applying to that does.

Does anyone know if the CON notifies applicants early? (before March 15th/June 15th)?

ETA: Just read some info/answered my own question. No Worries. :)

Has everybody had the chance to attend the orientation at USF as a pre-nursing student yet?

No, I haven't attended anything as yet. Last I checked, reservations for the March orientation were unavailable. Just to be clear.....Are you referring to the general orientation required of all USF newcomers or an orientation specific to the CON?

just the general usf new students! I wish it didnt take so long to hear back though. Its taking forever!

LOL...I feel ya. ;) So, you've received notice of your admission to USF already, yes?

yes, just for admission to the university for summer, not the school of nursing. I submitted my application to the nursing school in january though. What about you? Have you applied to any other schools?
