University of South Alabama Psychiatric NP program

Published

Hello,

I have applied to USA's online Psychiatric NP program for Spring 2015. I just wanted to hear from anyone else who has and what their GPA/experience/ ect they have. My GPA is low, but I feel like I have a lot of experience. Any current or former students have any insight as to how many they accept with a lower GPA if any? Does experience really count for anything? Also, has anyone who applied for the Spring 2015 semester heard from USA about their application being complete? Any info would be great, and just to hear from people who are also waiting to hear back.

Thanks

Ok, I cant find the Hippa statemetn, statement of continued health responsibility, communicable disease statement, or physical form under my certified profile. Can anyone help??

I just went through this a few months ago. On your "to do list" (I think that's the first page that comes up when you login)... Click on the blue plus sign to expand your requirements. Then for each of those, you click on the plus sign to expand. You will see a document you can click on. That's also where you go to upload everything. I don't know if I explained it well, but hope that helps.

The MSN letters have gone out! Mine was in the mailbox today. . I got in the WHNP program! *happy dance*

I was looking at what we need to submit and it says health insurance. Is this just my regular medical insurance through my employer or do I need to get another type of insurance?

Just your regular health insurance from your employer. I usually call the insurance company and they send a letter for me to scan.

does anyone know when we specify whether we're doing the full or part time option? I feel like we haven't done that yet. Was it part of the application and I forgot maybe?

I have got a lot of scanning to do today. I was able to upload a lot of the immunization stuff from where I had completed it for UAB when I attended for my BSN. I still have to do the physical, TB, and the drug test. I am sure there are some things I am forgetting about today but I will know when I finish scanning the Hippa, Insurance, License, and all that other stuff into the computer this afternoon. I wonder if LabCorp will be open tomorrow for drug testing? If they are I could get the drug test out of the way.

Wimberly, there is SO much help out there for writing a great essay; do not let that stand in your way! You will need to improve those skills anyway for grad school, especially online schools as they require even more writing....so get going and take a class, buy books and work on it, have a more confident pal proofread and give feedback, etc. Good luck is only part of it; if you survived nursing school you will find the rest if you dig deep.

I finally have finished uploading all of the documents to the certified profile website. I went and got a flu shot and my drug test out of the way. I had my daughter meet me after work and we went to the UPS Store and signed the papers from the acceptance packet and had them notarized. I am going to slow down and on Saturday double check to make sure I have it all done completely and correctly before I send it back to USA. I would love to get the packet sent off so I can concentrate on moving. I want to get moved and unpacked and settled in the new place before school starts in January.

Has anyone else received their acceptance letter with their Jag Number from USA yet?

You can get papers notarized at UPS?

Yes, at the UPS Store. It was 8.00 for the first page 5.00 for each page after and if you need a witness it was 3.0 for that. It was 27.00 to get the packet signed. There were only three pages that needed a notary. I brought one witness with me so I only needed one more to have the two.

I am trying to start up a facebook group for us. If you want to be added just send me an email with your name and I will get to work on it this weekend. My email is [email protected]

Thanks,

Lori Hale

I went to my bank and it was free. I figured we are going to be paying enough so anything I can get free I will.. :-)
